The rain that caused the poor field conditions didn't provide much help for the Explosion. It was raining at kickoff and pretty much rained throughout the entire match. Modesto had a great game plan and it probably included forcing us to chase their passes around the field. The Explosion couldn't keep up with Modesto's passing. Taylor B did a great job as a goalie during this match racking in 15 saves. Her teammates also played very hard and did their best to use their skills to catch up to Modesto by holding them scoreless in the second half. However, the 5 - 0 halftime lead couldn't be surpassed. A great effort by the Explosion under poor playing conditions. It's very hard to use all of your skils when the conditions aren't ideal.
