To verify the information by Brian Tully, the Valley Cottage Indians were formed as a formal group sometime between 1965 and 1966. Gentlemen as fathers of the original players brought the team together, those like George Tully and Pat Tannone under the coordination of the original president, Irwin Paul. The first home field was behind the old Valley Cottage Fire Station and it was unique as the field ran uphill. The first uniforms were mix-match but it was the best of times. The organization came a long way in a short period. The 10-11 year old team in the third year won the league title and were Undefeated-Untied and Unscored Upon for the entire season. The roots of this organization are from strong stock, so glad the tradition carries on. BTW: so proud that Audric Estime was an Indian... played for my alma mater Notre Dame!! Go Irish!

I enjoyed visiting this website today. I played from Mighty Might to Midget at Valley Cottage until 1989. Brings a lot of joy to see that the ball club is still going strong. Great job to all the players and families that have continued to support the ball club. GO INDIANS!!!!

I cheered on VCI for about 5 years. I wish I could find my videos from our competitions from those years as they were all lost. Love seeing Valley Cottage Indians continue a flawless legacy in Pop Warner cheerleading! Keep up the great work girls & guys! :)

Another former VCI player has continued success: http://videos.nj.com/star-ledger/2010/09/st_joseph_regional_upsets_st_p.html Saint Joseph High School has taken in many former VCI football players and they always make VCI proud. This video shows a last minute TD by Joe's TE Patrick O'Connor to upset the nationally ranked St Peter's Prep. Enjoy!!
