Predictions June 25, 2012 7:31:02 PM Entry ID: 1976218 | Ring and Complete split. Teddys, Barley, Trimax, Energy all sweep. |
None June 25, 2012 2:46:55 PM Entry ID: 1976168 | Prediction for the week! Someone will lose a game they should have won and then bitch about an illegal bat the other team had and how they would have won if the other team didn't have the illegal bat. Shut up and play bitches!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Dudley Representative June 25, 2012 10:09:55 AM Entry ID: 1976118 | I think use guys should switch to the .52/300 ball cause we need the business, besides every other league uses that ball. NOT! I think the best solution to the whole bat and ball thing is to have all the right hitters bat left and the lefty's bat right handed, that will fix everything! |
None June 25, 2012 9:38:52 AM Entry ID: 1976110 | back in the day Kenny Church hit one over the church at that crappy Birch Acres filed. Lefty built chubby like litts but had great bat speed. No way he was using a illegal bat back then! |
None June 24, 2012 1:52:45 PM Entry ID: 1975992 | Should be some good games this week! Predictions? |
None June 23, 2012 8:02:53 AM Entry ID: 1975892 | I didn't know women's leagues had restrictions on balls and bats. Shut up and play ball you bitches. |
skeeter June 22, 2012 9:25:06 PM Entry ID: 1975858 | i wish michael mader had the internet 240 lbs litz turns on a ball and hits it over the fence 130 lbs kid swings like a girl miss hits a ball that clears by 30 ft obviously both are using loaded bats rudys has a good team not upset they beat us but in two very close games where a bat did in deed make a difference for once blows as much as shit talking "none" |
$$$$$ June 22, 2012 6:50:55 PM Entry ID: 1975845 | Try the ball first and go from there. We need a starting point. |

Compression June 22, 2012 6:43:06 PM Entry ID: 1975844 | Compression determines the ball's hardness. When struck by a wooden or thick-walled bat, the ball loses some energy as it "gives" or deforms on impact. When a ball is struck with a thinner walled bat, you'll have a trampolene affect as most of the energy is returned to the rebound speed. I guess what we're learning here, if this study conducted by Washington State University is accurate, is that simply changing the ball won't be enough and we'll have to eliminate thin-walled bats. Agree? Thoughts? |

coefficient-of-restitution or COR June 22, 2012 6:21:15 PM Entry ID: 1975841 | The COR represents the ratio of the rebound speed to the incoming speed. It's measured by projecting a softball toward a steel plate that's mounted to massive, rigid wall. The higher the COR, the less energy is lost after impact and the livlier the ball will be in play. We're using the .52 COR balls in Wilkes-Barre. The ball does seem to jump off the bat just as fast. A baseball's COR generally exceeds .50. |
None June 22, 2012 4:27:57 PM Entry ID: 1975828 | And if the ball switch isn't enough....go wood! |
None June 22, 2012 4:26:11 PM Entry ID: 1975827 | The two best teams of this league the past 5 years just played a game this week where the score was 8 to 7. Hot bats??? That being said, it is clear that not switching to the safer ball was incredibly stupid. We should switch to the .52/300 immediately. I know knechts and trimax voted to change balls, can't remember how others voted. |
girls league June 22, 2012 3:46:00 PM Entry ID: 1975823 | Wiffle Ball Bats and Nerf Balls. Thats the answer to our problem. |
Balls June 22, 2012 3:22:25 PM Entry ID: 1975821 | Switch the balls!! Every other league that's worried about shavers has switched their balls to the 52/300. It's the easiest cost effective way to fix the problem. It's the reason asa sanctioned the ball in the first place. It's a good ball! Why not make the switch when the playoffs start this year? Bernie won't make anymore money but I'd rather be safe then make Bernies wallet bigger! Powers that be maybe a mid season meeting is in order to vote on this. Majority rules! If it gets voted down then u will know which teams have something to hide. |
OBSERVER Imsherenkoville June 22, 2012 2:47:21 PM Entry ID: 1975817 | I think Jimmy Sullivans legs are rolled not shaved but there is an ASA sticker on them so they are legal. In regards to the Senior Leaguers and the ball getting hit over 100 miles and hour I think the real issue is the "fileds". It's not so much that the ball is coming at you that much faster it's the shitty infileds we play on that pose the problem not the ball coming at you. If we had flat clean infileds i think the arguement would not be so bad since the painted Ultra II does crush the ball as well as the original Ultra II does. |
None June 22, 2012 12:28:33 PM Entry ID: 1975794 | To the last NONE post.... What world are you living in if you think Knecht's/Energy doesn't use illegal bats. They used to have Jimmer on there roster that guy has a lath in his garage and has shaved half the bats in the Plamer league. I am sick of all the ass kissing clueless people who post on here. Wake up and listen to the sound the ball makes coming off a shaved bat. But to say Knecht's doesn't use them is about the funniest thing I have ever heard. |
None June 22, 2012 12:07:29 PM Entry ID: 1975791 | Safety's key - hasn't happened yet is just good fortune. It's not about the "same four teams". The team that wins it every year has never been accused of using illegal bats, because they don't. I recently witnessed a singles/gaps hitter cut his swing in half (so obvious it looked like slow-motion) and hit a 260 ft liner for an out. By the end of the night, he and everyone else was swinging that bat like vikings and hitting liners over our outfielders' heads. Because we mostly have open fields, eliminating juiced bats would take care of that, too, because "if you can't beat them, join them" is no option. Hey, do you "marines" (sorry, no offense to real Marines) have fences in your senior league? |
League Vet June 22, 2012 11:51:47 AM Entry ID: 1975788 | Jimmy Sullivan's legs, I also think he shaves his back and the top of his feet! |
Rudy's...Really? June 22, 2012 11:46:25 AM Entry ID: 1975785 | I have a great suggestion...Let's get a pitching machine instead of having a real pitcher on the mound. What is everyone complaining about. We scored 13 runs to your 12 runs and had to beat you in 9 innings the second game. We hit 3 homers all night and you guys hit one. Could"ve had 2 but our left fielder reached over the fence and made a great catch. If we are using juiced bats, then we must really suck. I have been in this league for a long time and been on the receiving end of many ass kickings. Never have I though it was because another team used illegal bats. Stop your crying. Wish I knew this at the game the other night cause I would've asked Mike to use one of Canfield's bats and I would still hit the ball just as hard and far. If you are afraid to get hurt then don't play. It is that simple. |
None June 22, 2012 11:30:56 AM Entry ID: 1975780 | League Vet, when you speak of "shavers" are you speaking of bats or Jimmy Sullivans shaved legs? |
League Vet Cryingtoweltown June 22, 2012 10:23:32 AM Entry ID: 1975765 | There are some interesting comments from all the "NONE" ers. I have one question maybe one of you Knuckleheads can answer. Has there been one incident of someone getting hurt by a batted ball this Year? If not then shut the hell up about all the Fu##kin bat non-sense. And as for the "100" year old catcher hitting one deep, the left fielder was only playing about 230 feet away. You guys don't know what having balls hit at you 100 miles an hour are unless you play Senior Softball. There are guys twice the size of most of you idiots using Ultra II's and other Senior bats that make the "shavers" look like wooden bats! |
Classy Freddie Blassie June 22, 2012 10:20:54 AM Entry ID: 1975764 | When I play you pencil neck geeks I'm going to throw a white powdery substance in your eyes so nobody can see when I swing my ultra 2..stop bitching and play ball.. |
None June 22, 2012 10:15:14 AM Entry ID: 1975763 | AS AN ADULT YOU SHOULD KNOW IT'S PRETTY STUPID TO CHEAT IN A WEDNESDAY NIGHT SOFTBALL LEAGUE! JUST PLAY THE GAME WITH A LEGAL BAT. |
None June 22, 2012 9:58:46 AM Entry ID: 1975758 | Wood bats. Lots of other leagues are making the switch. Ours should too |
None June 22, 2012 9:45:05 AM Entry ID: 1975753 | Hey none you should have thought the portable bat compression test thing out before posting. If you get your bat tested before the season and it passes then you can send it out to get worked on. If one person has the compression tester everyone will know who that person is and when they play his team they don't bring there shaver. The only fix is to switch the ball but the rocket scientists who run this league can't seem to figure that out. It's time to clean house and get all new league officials, |
