AN ACTIVE ROLE IN MARKETING ITS PLAYERS TO COLLEGES

The AUF Lady Hawks AAU program is designed with a specific emphasis on "sharing the ball" in an effort that all of its high school aged student-athletes get the "touches and exposure" they need to shine during the "live period"!  So many AAU programs market anywhere from 2 to 4 players ... with the remainder of the kids just filling out the roster.  Our AUF Lady Hawks program DOES NOT play that way ... as we do a lot to market each of our young ladies with emails, letters and phone calls to colleges ... to make sure all our girls are "front and center" on a coach's radar!

To that end, a “Player Bio” Word document is developed for each player providing college coach’s with the necessary personal, academic and athletic information.  In addition, players / parents create a list of D1, D2 and D3 programs of interest, which get contacted by the AUF Staff to begin the dialogue for the future potential recruitment process.  In a nutshell, our program is designed to strategically position each AUF Lady Hawk in front of as many college coaches as possible ... either by personal contact, game day competition or a combination of both.

For the Spring / Summer 2018 campaign, both AUF Lady Hawks squads will compete at the 11th Grade level and participate in approximately 10 highly competitive / respected AAU sanctioned tournaments … providing its players with an approximate 40+ game schedule including but not limited to the following “focal point” events:

  ·   NCAA Pre-Season Challenge ..... April 20-22 ...... Lancaster, PA

·   Blue Chip USA Invitational ......... July 5-8 ........... Lancaster, PA

·   Nike National Championships .... July 22-25 ....... Washington, DC

It should be emphasized that the AUF Lady Hawks Coaching Staff firmly believes that the three major venues noted above provide each Lady Hawk with more than adequate exposure during the so called "live period".  Again ... noting that most, if not all college coaches, recognize the New York Metropolitan area as being the "hub" for the best basketball found anywhere in the country.  With that said ... spending additional monies to travel and play in other marquee events (say in Chicago and/or Kentucky) are really only beneficial if your student-athlete has a burning desire to go to a school in one of those areas!

At the end of the day, our effectiveness as an organization and coaching staff speaks for itself, as the competitiveness of our team and the talent of our Lady Hawks is recognized by College coaches during Showcase events ... as evidenced by the number of alumni that have gone on to play at the next level ... D1 through D3.

Below, you will find a coach's response to information provided on Brittiney Seymour ... a first year Notre Dame HS Junior player for our Lady Hawks program this past Spring / Summer ... that was received by our organization right after the AUF Lady Hawks participation in the Fall College Showcase USJN event held at Sportika in Manalapan, NJ at the end of September.

This coach's response represents one of the many communications received throughout each AAU season for our student-athletes ... based on our aggressive marketing style for all players!  At the end of the day ... Brittiney (after only playing organized AAU basketball for one season with the Lady Hawks) ... received a full scholarship offer from Caldwell University!

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the email. I was there yesterday and would love to send Brittiney Seymour some information and learn more about her as a player and person. We are looking for a post player and  I think she has a tremendous upside and potential to grow into a stud player.  Please let me know if you think she would have interest in Cabrini and I can pass along some information to her.

Thanks,

Kate
