Wrestlers must have both a red and a blue singlet for competition. There are many brands available online. The most affordable option would be to purchase a red/blue reversable singlet. In addition to singlets the wrestlers are required to have a dry towel in their corner.

The mat is slightly different in Freestyle and Greco roman competition. There is a 1 meter circle in the middle of the mat and both wrestlers can be touching any part of the circle for action to start. The red area is called the passivity zone, action can occur within the zone and carry outside of the zone for points, however if either wrestler steps on the blue portion of the mat (the protection zone), the other wrestler is awarded 1 point.
