League Notes – 2015-2016

 

 

  1. Payment rates for referees – 2015 season:
    1. Doubleheader games - $32/game ($16 per team)
    2. For all single games, $42/game ($21 per team)

 

  1. In case of weather cancellation, please notify the opposing schools and/or coaches and George Markey (833-8562) who is in charge of referees. (If no answer, leave a message on George’s voice mail at 629-8522.)  Postponements because of weather must be made at least 2 hours prior to the start of the game.  Any other postponements, if not made 2 hours in advance, may result in a full or partial payment to the officials. 

 

  1. It is up to the two schools involved to re-schedule a game.  If the coaches can agree on a site and a time, please e-mail at umpiregm@hotmail.com or call George Markey to schedule a referee.

 

  1. If a referee does not show up for a game, you can call on his cell phone at 912-3409.  Please use this only as a last resort.

 

  1. It is the host school’s responsibility to have the gym ready on time for all games.  This includes having a clock operator for each game, even if your team is not playing.  It is also the host school’s responsibility to make the calls for weather cancellations (see #2 above).

 

  1. There will be a $30/team league fee for teams in the 4th, 5th grade, 6th grade and the Combo (5th/6th combined) divisions.  This will cover all expenses including trophies for the league playoffs in March (details to follow).  Please make your checks payable to Al Hardick, 141 Dalewood drive, Amherst, NY 14228.

 

  1. The league is for girls in grades 3-6.  

 

  1. Please bring a copy of the League Notes and Game Rules to each game and keep it visible, for the referee to reference, at the scorer’s table.

 

  1. All teams should have someone keeping a scorebook.  Both teams should have this person at the scorer’s table so the referee can refer to the book for fouls and time outs, as necessary.

 

  1. The primary purpose of this league is player development.  Minimum playing time is 1 quarter (6 minutes) per game.  Maximum playing time is 3 quarters.  This does not change for playoffs.

 

  1. Please bring a first aid kit with ice packs for your team to every game.
