**2013. Became Head Coach for US Marine Corps Purple Heart Baseball Team:  While reaching out to the Military Wounded Warriors Program to help PTSD victims Reconnect with their children,( by seeing and hearing Lou coach their Kids And Them, one on one and watching how difficult things became easier in time), Lou was approached by a New Baseball Program created by two retired Veterans, Ernie Medina US Marine Corps and Rick Rodriguez Jr. US Army. They have formed the First Baseball Program for Purple Heart-Wounded Veterans and Active Members of the Military. “Purple Heart baseball” They volunteered their resources to help Lou with his quest and then asked if he would also like to coach the L.A. based Wounded Marine Corps Team.

They have two teams with the hopes of having all branches of the Military represented in the near future.  The Inaugural Purple Heart Baseball Game was at Angel Stadium May18,2013, Veterans Day, following the Angels vs White Sox game, “Marines vs Army”

**2014. Second year with PHB. Second MLB Stadium Game on May 18th 2014 at Angel Stadium again. Army vs Marines.

** In 2015 the Purple Heart Baseball program changed leadership and disbanded in California area and is now located in Texas under new name of Heroes Baseball.

**2017 to Present. Retired from College Summer Baseball after 25 years. Doing one on one and small group private instruction in Norco & surrounding communities. Although there are adult, high school and intermediate level male and female players coming for instruction, 2/3's of the players are elementary school level.

**2018 to Present. known for connecting with kids who struggle with Physical and Mental Multitasking, mentally processing and physically reacting at the same time learning to understand ones self, etc. it was suggested to him that he would fit very well with a sports league in orange County that dealt with special Needs youth and young adults through Soccer, basketball and baseball. A Norco family who was bringing their son to him and were members of the Spirit League in Mission Viejo invited him to come out and see some games and volunteer, to see if it would fit with his methodology of coaching. Each kid is his or her uniqueness which will challenge each coach to find multitudes of ways to communicate their thoughts and instructions. "Baseball" being a dangerous sport to begin with needs the anticipation and the alertness of all coaches and staff members involved, at all times, as safety is a priority. In 2019 took the online evaluation course and the background check and was accepted onto the coaching staff of the Spirit League.

"Having been around adult and youth sports over the last 25 years where I have been involved with some kids diagnosed as ADHD, ADD, Asperger's, Autism, Mentally Challenged, also working with our Wounded Warrior's suffering from PTSD and including the fact that I too have a moderate learning issue, I feel I connect and anticipate where they may get lost and understand the frustration they may get"  This new journey has begun.
