PSN Cup rules

The Portland Saturday Night (PSN) Cup is a season-long tournament run in conjunction with the PFL that pits your knowledge of the Maine Mariners (along with a little luck) against other fellow Mariners fans in hopes of landing the PSN Cup. The Cup gets its name from the fact that the tournament is based on Saturday night Maine Mariners homes games in Portland. Scores are based on the final stats for each game, with the Cup being the ultimate prize for the person that finishes on top at the end of the tournament.

The PSN Cup is very easy to get into you; all you have to do is submit a series of guesses for the following questions prior to the Saturday night Maine Mariners game.
* Guess the winning team
* Guess the score of the Maine Mariners
* Guess the score of the Mariners' opponent
* Guess the team with the most shots on goal
* Guess the team with the most penalty minutes
* Guess the team that scores the first goal

Points are awarded for each guess you get correct with a maximum of 10 points eligible for every Portland Saturday Night home game. For each correct guess you’ll receive the following points,
* 3 points for guessing the winning team
* 2 points for guessing the exact score of the Maine Mariners
* 2 points for guessing the exact score of the Mariners’ opponents.
* 1 point for guessing the team that takes the most shots on goal
* 1 point for guessing the team with the most penalty minutes
* 1 point for guessing the team that scores the first goal

Points will be awarded in the event of a tie between the Mariners and their opponents for shots on goal and/or penalty minutes.

Once a guess has been submitted, it cannot be changed.

Guesses can be submitted in person, by email, posted, or through forum private message starting the Monday of that week until the opening puck drop of the respective Saturday night game.

At the conclusion of that Saturday night game, scores will be tabulated and updated. After the first round scores will become cumulative and everyone will be ranked based on their overall points. At the conclusion of the last Maine Mariners Saturday night home game the final scores will be announced and the person(s) with the most overall points will be announced as the winner of the PSN Cup and will receive a banner for their profile page.

Nightly totals will be broadcasted in conjunction with the PFL score sheet for that game on the PFL website and the PFL Facebook page. The PFL website will contain the complete overall standing.
