We are a dedicated Football-First community of passionate coaches and parents whose sole purpose is to elevate each player to reach his or her maximum potential. Player development is at the forefront of what we do and the very core of our existence. 

We believe the Waterloo Region has a wealth of talent in coaches and players. We seek to make a home for those that want to develop and mature that talent onto greater opportunities than are available here locally. That might sound strange to you, that we would want our players and coaches to move on, but we feel that is why we exist. We have the ambition to see our very own play at the highest levels of competition. In Canada that will be the Canadian Premier League, and until we can provide our very own Canadian Premier League Division 1 Club here locally, we will continue to open pathways for players to reach those heights outside of our Region.  

Our success is measured not by how many players we keep but by how many players we send. Our clubs are doing a great job of sending more and more each year. 

How are we different?

We work towards unity between the Soccer (Football - Futbol) community in our Region. We actively welcome and encourage inclusiveness of all communities regardless of sanctioning status. All are welcome, from any club, any academy, any age, any level, any tribe, any tongue. That is, after all, why they call it the beautiful game. If your club has convictions about how the game is to be played and values that your club holds true, then we invite you to showcase them on the court for all to see.

Premier League Futsal exists for you, the Football First Community. 

Registration costs are kept low to ensure every child has an opportunity to play. Our Divisions are split into Level of Play and not by age, that gives the late developer the time needed to nurture his talent and the early bloomer a challenging environment to continue his progress. 

We keep Standings and Scores because we believe competition is not detrimental to development. In fact, it is an essential component.  Every coach that is part of our family believes in development above results.  Coaches who believe results show development make the game about themselves and not about the players growth. 

That is why it is never okay to sacrifice development to achieve results. In our league you will find hotly contested games, where fans cheer wildly, encouraging both sides of the court. Yes, both sides, because even our fans understand that we all rise together when we focus on playing the beautiful game, beautifully. In that environment scores matter little and how we play matters more. 

You will find our coaches encouraging and congratulating his players and the opponents players. You will see our players showing our values of Respect & Fair Play. In our league you will  see Referees allowed to do their job without harassment or mistreatment. You will see fans who are rivals on the court, feel like family off of it. 

Above all, you will also see quality Football!

Why Futsal?

In Canada, more than half of the year is spent indoors and that is why Futsal needs to be a part of the development pathway for every child. Futsal is played on a gym court, with a low bounce ball to ensure the ball stays at the players feet, where it belongs, for as many touches as possible. The specialized rules of Futsal ensure a fast-paced game that sparks the creative instincts and decision-making power of the player. We use official FIFA Futsal rules in the 5v5 game.
