What kind of experience do I need to play with Sylvania Water Polo?

None.  It is helpful to be a good swimmer, but many of our athletes have never played water polo before.  It is important to be in good shape and be willing to come to practice ready to work hard and learn.  Water polo is a demanding sport but also a great deal of fun.

Do you have girls and boys teams?

Yes!  We are happy to have both boys and girls.  They practice together but have separate games and tournaments.  We are still growing interest for the game in both genders, though tend to be short on girls.  

What other costs are there besides the signup fee and USA Water Polo membership?

The signup fees cover the costs associated with games/tournaments, pool time, and hiring referees.  The USA Water Polo membership ensures that we have insurance coverage for our players and allows us to participate in USAWP events.  In addition to that, we have many out of town games that require hotel stays and travel.  We also have the option to purchase spirit wear such as t-shirts, pants, and warmup jackets, though it is not required.  There is also a separate fee for team swimsuits (approximately $40 for boys, $70 for girls).
