Debbie Rice and Bont Skates

I would like to give a HUGE TBS Thank You

to an inspiring Team TBS Hero!

Here is Debbie's story:

A couple of weeks ago I attended an inline practice with the Tampa Bay Sprinters and noticed a skater was wearing boots that not only had missing tongues, but the front toes were cut out to make room for growth.  I was completely amazed that he was able to stand up in the boots, much less skate races in them!

After inquiring more about this kid, I found out that he never complains and never asks anyone for anything, that he appreciates just having the chance to be out there skating.

I have been looking for an opportunity to help someone in need, and this was my chance! Tevon Shay "TJ" is now the proud owner of a brand new set of Bont Cheetahs (with growing room!), and Justin Stelly donated a set of his personal race wheels to make a complete skate package. Tim from Weber Sports donated a new helmet too!

TJ is a 10th grader from King High School and a member of the Tampa Bay Sprinters speed Club. His goal is to win nationals and become a member of Team USA one day. Great kid and well deserved.

Thank you Debie - You're a Team TBS Hero!!

Lisa LaDue

I would like to give a HUGE TBS Thank You

to our second Sponsor-A-Skater Program contributor!

Lisa has graciously made a very LARGE Team Donation to help defer the expenses of some of our youth skaters struggling with financial hardship. It's amazing people like her that allow everyone to reach for the stars and follow their dreams of becoming a successful athlete.

Team TBS's Sponsor-A-Skater program; together with the helmet donations we receive, allow TBS to offer a child who would not normally be able to try it, a chance to be a Speed Skater. With our additional team fundraisers in place, we can make it possible for them to continue in this amazing sport.

Tha
