Hello Tampa Bay Sprinters Speed Club members,

This publication was created to provide parents and skaters with some general information regarding competitions.

If you’re not sure if competing is something you would like to do just talk to me and I will let you know what my thoughts are. There is never any pressure to skate a competition -- There are plenty of events throughout the year to choose from.  However, I highly encourage you to help our Team make a great impression by representing throughout the skating season. Please give me a call if you have any questions, I'm your coach, that's what I'm here for!!!

I will update you as we get closer to the date of any upcoming events with more details of what to expect. You can check back here on our team website for updates and up to the minute information.

Please note that you must have a current USARS amateur card in order to compete in any USARS Sanctioned event.  Each new season you are required to renew your USARS amateur card.  If you have never had a USARS amateur card before, you will be required to submit a copy of your birth certificate with your member application.

South Florida Speed League (SFSL) Meet Information:

At most of the league events, doors will open at 5am on Sunday and the first race starts at 6am with the Novice Division followed by Rookie then Elite Division and 2 Person Relays.  Some meets will require relays to be run on Saturday, but I will let you know if and when that happens.

All new skaters without a USARS membership registration will be required to purchase a $80 registration card which will be good for the current skating season.  This is in addition to meet fees.

  • SFSL Meet fees are $30 first event, $5 second event and $10 Relays.  Once I have a list of people that plan to attend an event, I can put together any relays available and give you an exact amount due.
  • Coaches fees (SFSL meets) - a flat $10 per person regardless of the number of events skated.

Invitational meets or Championship events:

Each of these type of events will have different durations, events and starting times.  I will provide that information as they approach.

  • Meet Fees - Cost to participate in the event along with entry deadlines will be passed on as soon as I have it.
  • Coaches fees (Invitational meets or Championship events) - will be $20 per day times the number of days the skater competes.

Please give me a call if you have any questions.

See you at practice.

Coach Tony
