About Wilson JBO: JBO provides a transition from youth baseball to high school level of play.  All JBO games are played on full-size fields, the same size used for the high school to the major leagues. Most new JBO players find the transition to a larger field challenging at first. Our paid coaches will focus on individual skill development, including fielding, hitting, pitching, position and team preparation aimed at developing players to their highest ability level and preparing them to play high school baseball.  This year, we have hired Nate Wilson-Traisman formerly Lewis & Clark College baseball coach as our specialty coach for hitting, pitching and fielding.   In addition, we have already secured additional coaches that have played and/or coached at the college level for our Federal, American and National teams.  Each team will have at least two coaches, in addition to all teams utilizing our  specialty coach

Registration Fees: JBO is a transition to a competitive baseball environment. Wilson JBO is committed to providing not only that environment but the staff, training opportunities and fields necessary to continue to build a successful player and program. The registration fee for 2020 is $575 if you register by March 1. After March 1 it will be $600.  If you opt to do a payment plan, the registration rate is $600. Please use the coupon code paymentplan2020 for a payment plan in the coupon field on the cart page.  Tournament fees will be included for two tournaments with any additional paid to the coaches. This fee covers team registration with JBO, hats, umpires, fields, coaches, insurance, supplies, and some field maintenance. Uniform fees will be separate. We will offer limited scholarships. Please contact Wilson JBO wilsonjbopdx@gmail.com to inquire. You can register here.

There will be options for additional, weekend baseball for an additional cost. Practices start as early as April 6 for the Federal Team. American and National levels will begin on April 13.

Fields:  Our home fields are at Jackson Middle School and Clopton Field at Wilson High School.  Note that your registration fee covers some field maintenance, but it is the responsibility of each team’s players and families to help prep fields prior and after each game.

Spring Training and Roster Selection: High School coaches and volunteers will lead players through Spring Training from March 9 to March 22, see below for tentative schedule.  Additional dates may be added for March 16-22.  Spring Training will consist of multiple sessions at Wilson High School gym, the Wilson batting cages and/or (weather permitting) outside on Clopton field.  .  We expect players to attend at least 70% of offered Spring Training sessions – failure to meet this requirement will be considered during team selection.

In addition to our commitment to provide the best environment possible, Wilson JBO expect commitment from both players and families during the entire season. Roster selection will be completed by coaches following Spring Training, with input from the JBO Board, as needed.  Players will be divided by skill level and team needs, not age or school. Wilson JBO intends to find a place for every player; HOWEVER, it is possible that the number of registered players does not distribute equally among teams, therefore, we reserve the right to try to find alternative places to play for some players. All teams will have no fewer than 10 players and a maximum of 12 players.  Players will be cut only as a last resort.

For the weekday tryouts you will only be required to attend the designated time for your player. Each day, the athletes will enter the gym, check in. The below outlines the timeslots alphabetically:
