Five Stars of Maine - Week 10

We are proud to announce our selections for the Five Stars of Maine! This honors the outstanding individual achievement from each of the five classes. Here are our selections for Week 10.

Our Class A Star of Maine is Colby VanDecker of Oxford Hills. During the Vikings 42-0 victory over Sanford, Colby ran 29 times for 202 yards and ran for three touchdowns. He joins other alumni such as Atticus Soehren(2019), Colton Carson(2018), Jacob Spinhirn(2015), and Davis Turner(2014).

Our Class B Star of Maine is Owen Richardson of Brunswick. During the Dragons 44-29 win against Skowhegan, Owen ran for 208 yards and three touchdowns. He joins other alumni such as Mitch Lienert(2019), Will Bessey(2015 & 2014), and Jared Jensen(2012).

Our Class C Star of Maine is Colby Pomeroy of Winslow. In the Black Raiders 49-7 victory against Hermon, Colby threw for 123 yards and four touchdowns. He joins other alumni such as Rob Clark(2019), Ryan Fredette(2017), Nate St. Amand(2015), Dylan Hapworth(2012), Joe Hopkins(2012), Donald Camp(2011), Johnny McCabe(2010), and Cody Souviney(2009).

Our Class D Star of Maine is Josh Miller of Bucksport. During the Golden Bucks 49-12 win against Foxcroft Academy, Josh ran 22 times for 304 yards and scored two touchdowns. He joins other alumni such as Logan Stanley(2019), Jaxon Gross(2019), Luke Wardwell(2018), Carter Tolmasoff(2018 & 2017), Chase Carmichael(2017), Matt Vincent(2016), Jack Cyr(2014), Matthew Stewart(2014), Josh Gray(2012), Mike Cummings(2011), and Vinny Tymoczko(2009).

Our Class 8 Man Star of Maine is Jaden Davies of Old Orchard Beach. During the Seagulls 48-14 victory over Boothbay Jaden completed five of seven passes for 113 yards, three three touchdown passes, ran 14 times for 98 yards and two touchdowns, and he made three touchdowns and intercepted a pass. This is his second nomination this year. He joins other alumni such as Jaden Davies(2019), Eric Hogan(2015), Bryan Roberts(2014 & 2013), and Jason Dutton(2010).

We are proud to announce our selections for the Five Stars of Maine! This honors the outstanding individual achievement from each of the five classes. Here 
are our selections for Week 9.

Our Class A Star of Maine is Zach Maturo of Bonny Eagle. During the Scots 34-20 win at Sanford, Zach had 23 carries for 200 rushing yards and three touchdowns. He joins other alumni such as Keegan Meredith(2019), Will Whyte(2018), Connor Sirois(2017), Cam Day(2016), Alex Sprague(2016), Zach Brannon(2015), Matt Smith(2014), Zach Dubiel(2013), Tyson Goodale(2012 & 2011), Matt Rollins(2010), and Ryan Nason(2009).

Our Class B Star of Maine is Anthony Poole of South Portland. During the Red Riots 41-19 victory in Biddeford, Anthony completed three of five passes for 183 yards and two touchdowns while rushing 22 times for 178 yards and four touchdowns. This is his third nomination this year and he joins other alumni such as Jake Poole(2017), Duncan Preston(2013), Michael Salvatore(2011), and Ryan Curit(2009).

Our Class C Star of Maine is Gannon Stewart of Cape Elizabeth. During the Capers 42-41 double-overtime loss to Freeport, Gannon completed 18 of 27 passes for 185 yards, he threw five touchdowns with one interception, and he made seven tackles. He joins other alumni such as Matt Laughlin(2019), Peyton Weatherbie(2016), Ben Ekadahl(2016), Jack O'Rourke(2015), Noah Wolfinger(2014), Christian Lavallee(2012), and Tom Foden(2009).

Our Class D Star of Maine Gavin Rawstron is Oak Hill. During the Raiders 41-8 victory over Madison, Gavin completed 9 of 17 passes for 220 yards and three touchdowns, he ran 7 times for 110 yards and two touchdowns, and he made five tackles on defense. He was named a Star of the Week in 2018 and joins other alumni such as Dalton Therrien(2015), Kyle Flaherty(2014 & 2013), Alex Mace(2014), Cody Depuy(2011), and Josh Allen(2010).

Our Class 8 Man Star of Maine is Hunter Crocker of Boothbay. During the Seahawks 36-22 win against Sacopee Valley, Hunter completed three of eight passes for 45 yards, he threw a touchdown pass and an interception, and he ran 23 times for 213 yards and three touchdowns while also scoring a two-point conversion. He is the first person nominated from Boothbay in the history of our award programs.

are our selections for Week 8.

Our Class A Star of Maine is Jarett Flaker of Scarborough. During the Red Storms' 49-7 victory against Oxford Hills, Jarett ran six times for 36 yards, caught five passes for 175 yards and scored four touchdowns, and returned a kickoff for a touchdown. This is his second nomination this year along with a 2018 Star of the Week selection. He joins other nominated alumni such as Zoltan Panyi(2016), Owen Garrard(2016), Jack Hughes(2015 & 2014), and Dillon Russo (2012).

Our Class B Star of Maine is Anthony Poole of South Portland. During the Red Riots 27-21 win over Sanford, He ran 44 times for 234 yards and scored four touchdowns. This is his second nomination this year and he joins other alumni such as Jake Poole(2017), Duncan Preston(2013), Michael Salvatore(2011), and Ryan Curit(2009).

Our Class C Star of Maine is Teagan Hynes of York. During the Wildcats 48-27 victory against Wells, Teagan completed 18 of 26 passes for 371 yards, he threw five touchdown passes, and he ran for a touchdown. This is second nomination this year and his fourth overall going back to last year. He joins other alumni such as Cullen McCarty(2014) and Jared Prugar(2009).

Our Class D Star of Maine is Logan Stanley of Bucksport. During the Golden Bucks 53-0 victory at Foxcroft Academy, Logan caught a pass for a touchdown, scored on a two-point conversion, intercepted three passes, and returned one of the interceptions for a 45-yard touchdown. He joins other alumni such as Jaxon Gross(2019), Luke Wardwell(2018), Carter Tolmasoff(2018 & 2017), Chase Carmichael(2017), Matt Vincent(2016), Jack Cyr(2014), Matthew Stewart(2014), Josh Gray(2012), Mike Cummings(2011), and Vinny Tymoczko(2009).

Our Class 8 Man Star of Maine is Connor Crawford of Ellsworth. During the Eagles 44-30 win at Gray-New Gloucester he completed two of four passes for 96 yards and two touchdown while rushing for 274 yards and four touchdowns. This is his second nomination this year and third in his high school career. He joins fellow alumnist Devin Wright(2015).

We are proud to announce our selections for the Five Stars of Maine! This honors the outstanding individual achievement from each of the five classes. Here 
are our selections for Week 7.

Our Class A Star of Maine is Keegan Meredith of Bonny Eagle. During the Scots 41-14 win over Cheverus, Keegan completed 5 of 11 passes for 212 yards, threw three touchdowns and an interception, and he ran six times for 55 yards and a touchdown. This is Keegan's second selection this year and he joins other alumni such as Will Whyte(2018), Connor Sirois(2017), Cam Day(2016), Alex Sprague(2016), Zach Brannon(2015), Matt Smith(2014), Zach Dubiel(2013), Tyson Goodale(2012 & 2011), Matt Rollins(2010), and Ryan Nason(2009).

Our Class B Star of Maine is Hunter Meeks of Mt. Blue. During the Cougars 40-13 win against Edward Little, Hunter threw four touchdown passes, ran for two touchdowns, and scored on a two-point conversion. He joins other alumni such as Randy Barker(2018), J.T. Williams(2014), Andrew Pratt(2013), Jordan Whitney(2012 & 2011), and Izaiha Tracy(2011).

Our Class C Star of Maine is Adam Ulrickson of Freeport. During the Falcons 41-6 win over Poland, Adam had 13 carries for 209 yards and four touchdowns while making 7 tackles on defense. He joins Max Doughty(2016) as the only nominated alumni from Freeport.

Our Class D Star of Maine is Brayden Lujan of Mattanawcook Academy. During the 47-35 Lynx victory against Foxcroft Academy, Brayden had 27 carries for 203 yards and three touchdowns while catching two passes for 53 yards and a touchdown. This is Brayden's second selection this year and he joins other alumni such as Alex Brown(2018), Matthew Young(2017), Scott Jipson(2015), and Trysten Pelkey(2013 & 2012 & 2011).

Our Class 8 Man Star of Maine is Jacob Payea of Old Orchard Beach. During the Seagulls 50-20 victory against Gray-New Gloucester, Jacob ran 25 times for 228 yards and five touchdowns, he caught a 74-yard touchdown pass, and he made 9 tackles and recovered a fumble on defense. He joins other nominated alumni such as Jaden Davies(2019), Eric Hogan(2015), Bryan Roberts(2014 & 2013), and Jason Dutton(2010).

Our Class A Star of Maine is Kobe Gaudette of Thornton Academy. During the Golden Trojans 56-0 victory against Windham, Koba threw for 118 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 155 yards. He joins other alumni such as Isaac Ofielu(2018), C.J. LaBreck(2017), Will Mitchell(2017), Michael Laverriere(2016, 2014), Austin McCrum(2015), Eric Christensen(2012), Steve Trask(2009), and Zach Sheehan(2009).

Our Class B Star of Maine is Mason Fitzgerald of Skowhegan. During their 38-8 win against Messalonskee, Mason ran for 190 yards, had 82 receiving yards, and scored four touchdowns. He joins other alumni such as Marcus Christopher(2018 & 2017), Jon Bell(2017), Garrett McSweeney(2016 & 2015), Adam Clukey(2013), Adam Dusty(2011), and Kaleb Austin(2010).

Our Class C Star of Maine is Rob Clark of Winslow. During the Black Raiders 61-37 victory against Maine Central Institute, Rob had 20 carries for 288 yards and four touchdowns. He joins other alumni such as Ryan Fredette(2017), Nate St. Amand(2015), Dylan Hapworth(2012), Joe Hopkins(2012), Donald Camp(2011), Johnny McCabe(2010), and Cody Souviney(2009).

Our Class D Star of Maine is Elliott Shearer of Stearns. During the Minutemen's 34-13 win over Mount View, Elliott completed 7 of 13 passes for 186 yards, he threw three touchdown passes and an interception, and he intercepted two passes. He joins other alumni such as Riley Whitney(2012) and Jared McGreevy(2010 & 2009).

Our Class 8 Man Star of Maine is Jaden Davies of Old Orchard Beach During the Seagulls 50-20 victory over Telstar, Jaden completed four of nine passes for 127 yards, he threw two touchdown passes, he ran 16 times for 126 yards and two touchdowns, he scored three two-point conversions, and he defense he recorded seven tackles and intercepted two passes. He joins other alumni such as Eric Hogan(2015), Bryan Roberts(2014 & 2013), and Jason Dutton(2010).

During the Vikings 49-14 win over Edward Little, Atticus completed 8 of 11 passes for 128 yards and three touchdowns while also rushing for a touchdown. He joins other nominated alumni such as Colton Carson(2018), Jacob Spinhirn(2015), and Davis Turner(2014).

During the Red Riots 31-28 victory against Gorham, Anthony completed 12 of 21 passes for 175 yards, he threw a touchdown and an interception, and he ran 16 times for 132 yards and three touchdowns. He joins other nominated alumni such as Jake Poole(2017), Duncan Preston(2013), Michael Salvatore(2011), and Ryan Curit(2009).

Our Class C Star of Maine is Wyatt Hathaway of Leavitt. During the Hornets 48-6 win at Poland, Wyatt completed 8 of 10 passes for 175 yards, threw three touchdown passes, and ran for two touchdowns. He was named a Star of the Week in 2018 and joins other nominated alumni such as Damion Calder(2018), Tim Albert(2017), Levi Craig(2015), Jordan Hersom(2011), and Eric Theiss(2009).

Our Class D Star of Maine is Keegan Choate of Winthrop/Monmouth. During the Ramblers 47-0 victory over Mountain Valley, in the first half Keegan completed 11 of 16 passes for 205 yards and threw four touchdown passes. He was named a Star of the Week in 2017 and joins other nominated alumni such as Nate Scott(2016), Alec Brown(2015), and Jared Hanson(2011).

Our Class 8 Man Star of Maine is Jack McGrath of Yarmouth. In the Clippers 64-36 win against Gray-New Gloucester, Jack accounted for five Clippers touchdowns. He joins other nominated alumni such as John Thoma(2016), Jack Snyder(2015), and Anders Overhaug(2011).

Our Class A Star of Maine is Keegan Meredith of Bonny Eagle. During the Scots 33-21 victory against Oxford Hills, Keegan completed 6 of 12 passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing 12 times for 37 yards and a touchdown. Keegan joins other nomination alumni such as Will Whyte(2018), Connor Sirois(2017), Cam Day(2016), Alex Sprague(2016), Zach Brannon(2015), Matt Smith(2014), Zach Dubiel(2013), Tyson Goodale(2012 & 2011), Matt Rollins(2010), and Ryan Nason(2009).

Our Class B Star of Maine is Riley Geyer of Cony. During the Rams 44-28 win over Lewiston, Riley completed 17 of 24 passes for 162 yards, he threw a touchdown pass, and he ran 28 times for 156 yards and three touchdowns. This is Riley's second Star of Maine nomination this year and his fourth recognition going back to last year. He joins other nominated alumni such as Jordan Roddy(2016), Taylor Heath(2015), Mitchell Caron(2014), Ben Lucas(2013 & 2012 & 2011), Chandler Shostak(2012), and Luke Duncklee(2010).

Our Class C Star of Maine is Payton MacKay of Wells. During the Warriors 34-33 victory against Cape Elizabeth, Payton had 30 carries for 303 yards and four touchdowns while also catching a pass for 15 yards. This is Payton's second Star of Maine nomination this year and he joins other nominated alumni such as Tyler Bridge(2018), Riley Dempsey(2016), Chris Carney(2014), Drew Shelley(2012), Doug McLean(2011), Paul McDonough(2011), and Louis DiTomasso(2011).

Our Class D Star of Maine is Brandon Frey of Spruce Mountain. During the Phoenix 49-14 win over Madison, Brandon ran for two touchdowns, caught two passes for touchdowns, returned a kickoff for a touchdown, and intercepted a pass on defense. Brandon joins other nominated alumni such as Matt Vigue(2014 & 2013), Peter Theriault(2013), and Bill Calden(2011).

Our Class 8 Man Star of Maine is Connor Crawford of Ellsworth. We are proud to announce our selections for the Five Stars of Maine! This honors the outstanding individual achievement from each of the five classes. Here are our selections for Week 3.

Our Class A Star of Maine is Jarrett Flaker of Scarborough. During the Red Storm's win over Bangor, Jarrett had 10 carries for 112 rushing yards and two touchdowns and a two-point conversion. He also returned two punts for touchdowns. Jarrett was named a Star of the Week in 2018 and he joins other nominated alumni such as Zoltan Panyi(2016), Owen Garrard(2016), Jack Hughes(2015 & 2014), and Dillon Russo(2012).

Our Class B Star of Maine is Mitch Lienert of Brunswick. During the Dragons 27-14 victory over Windham, Mitch ran 20 times for 185 yards and scored two touchdowns while also intercepting a pass on defense. He joins other nominated alumni such as Will Bessey(2015 & 2014) and Jared Jensen(2012).

Our Class 8 Man Star of Maine is Davin Mason of Telstar. During the Rebels 54-42 victory over Gray-New Gloucester, Davin completed 13 of 23 passes for 182 yards, he threw a touchdown pass, and he ran for four touchdown passes. He became the first person from Telstar to be recognized in our programs.

We are proud to announce our selections for the Five Stars of Maine! This honors the outstanding individual achievement from each of the five classes. Here are our selections for Week 2.

Our Class A Star of Maine is Kameron Caron of Lewiston. In Lewiston's 32-27 win against Bangor, Kameron threw for 99 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 72 yards and two touchdowns. He joins other nominated alumni such as Tanner Cortes(2018), Hunter Landry(2017), and Jeff Turcotte(2011).

Our Class B Star of Maine is Riley Geyer of Cony. During the Rams 35-7 win at Skowhegan, Riley completed 15 of 20 passes for 156 yards, threw four touchdown passes, and he ran 23 times for 146 yards and a touchdown. Riley was twice named a Star of the Week in 2018. He joins other alumni such as Jordan Roddy (2016), Taylor Heath(2015), Mitchell Caron(2014), Ben Lucas(2013 & 2012 & 2011), Chandler Shostak(2012), and Luke Duncklee(2010).

He joins other nominated alumni such as Luke Wardwell(2018), Carter Tolmasoff(2018 & 2017), Chase Carmichael(2017), Matt Vincent(2016), Jack Cyr(2014), Matthew Stewart(2014), Josh Gray(2012), Mike Cummings(2011), and Vinny Tymoczko(2009).

Our Class 8 Man Star of Maine is Garit Laliberte of Maranacook. During the Black Bears 38-18 win against Mt. Ararat, Garit completed 9 of 19 passes for 223 yards and four touchdown passes while rushing 20 times for 143 yards and two touchdowns. He joins the school's only other nominated alumni Caleb Castonguay(2012).

We are proud to announce our selections for the Five Stars of Maine! This honors the outstanding individual achievement from the five classes. Here are our selections for Week 1.

Our Class A Star of Maine is Jonny Lyon of Bangor. During the Rams 42-21 win over Brewer, Jonny ran 11 times for 123 yards and two touchdowns. He joins other nominated alumni such as Dane Johnson(2015 & 2014), Logan Lanham(2013), Cody Chapman(2012), Zeb Tuell(2011), Joe Seccareccia(2010), and Lonnie Hackett(2009).

Our Class B Star of Maine is Tyler Rollins of Gorham. During the Rams 34-7 victory over Noble, Tyler had 29 carries for 249 yards, ran for four touchdowns, returned a punt for a touchdown, and forced a fumble. He was nominated as a 2018 Star of the Week and joins Gorham’s other nominated alumni John Day(2009).

Our Class C Star of Maine is Matt Laughlin of Cape Elizabeth. During the Capers 24-6 win against Mountain Valley, Matt caught 12 passes for 188 yards and a touchdown while also rushing 10 times for 38 yards and two touchdowns. He joins other nominated alumni such as Peyton Weatherbie(2016), Ben Ekadahl(2016), Jack O'Rourke(2015), Noah Wolfinger(2014), Christian Lavallee(2012), and Tom Foden(2009).

Our Class D Star of Maine is Hunter Norton of Camden Hills. In the Windjammers 40-21 win at Old Town, Hunter ran 17 times for 171 yards and three touchdowns, he caught  two passes for 69 yards, and he made two tackles. He joins other nominated alumni such as Collin Downs(2010) and Jake Powers(2010).

Our Class 8 Man Star of Maine is Holden Brannan of Mt. Ararat. In the Eagles 56-28 win over Gray-New Gloucester, Holden ran 24 times for 221 yards, ran for three touchdowns, and caught a pass for a touchdown. He joins Mt. Ararat’s other nominated alumni Riley Morin(2018).

The Five Stars of Maine
is a weekly recognition which selects the top performing student athletes from each of the four football classes across the state of Maine.


The selection process consists of using media articles and box score recaps to select the top five individual performances of the week. Only accredited and authorized media sources, or feedback submitted by team/school coaches or administrators, are used in the selection process. Nominees are announced every week of the season up to the regional semifinals. Our selections will be announced every Tuesday.
