Practice Plan through the Season
Fall ‘25
Following tryouts we will have a few weeks of practice and possibly an exhibition game. We won’t be doing much this fall. We will shut down thru Oct/Nov. We will look to re-start again a little bit indoors in December, more with pitchers and catchers.
Jan-April ‘26
We will work with families to figure out a plan that best fits around other winter sports and activities. We look to have two team sessions a week, one weeknight 6-8pm and one weekend slot. Pitchers will have an additional pitching session each week. Catchers will have an opportunity to do an approximately 8 week training clinic 90 minutes, once a week with our catching instructor.
May-August ‘26
We will have two host tournaments (Victoria Day and Canada Day weekend). These tournaments are free for our team but families are expected to help run them. We will enter 1-2 additional invitational tournaments. We will also participate in the PWSA Provincials that have a Qualifier mid July and a Grand Final in August. Additionally, we will compete in the Grand Valley League. It has a ~ 20-22 mid-week 6:30 game season with an opening weekend early May and a final weekend mid August (7-8 weekends total).
We expect to play 45-50 games and will practice 1-2 times per week based on the game schedule each week. We encourage multi-sport athletes but ask that players prioritize softball during the in-season period May-August.
