10 Commandments
1. ACADEMICS:
Academics always come before athletics.
On the days that we have practice, begin your homework immediately after school
and have it completed before the start of practice.
2. SAFETY & HEALTH:
Keep your head up at all times "eyes to the sky".
Never use your helmet as an initial point of impact when blocking, tackling or running.
Eat an early dinner on practice days and hydrate your body throughout the day.
No jewelry is to be worn during practice or games.
3. EFFORT:
You must give 100% effort 100% of the time.
"Hustle" requires no special talent.
4. ATTENDANCE:
You must attend every practice unless you are legitimately sick, observing a religious
holiday or have a family crisis. Email or call if you are going to be absent or late.
5. PROMPTNESS:
You must arrive early for practices and games. Arriving "on -time" is considered "late". Tardiness is unacceptable.
Weekday practices start at 6:20pm sharp.
6. COMMITMENT:
You must be committed to this team. Your participation in this program comes before
all other extracurricular activities. Your teammates & coaches are counting on you.
7. PRIDE:
You have elected to do something that not everyone can and that is to participate in the greatest
game ever invented. Be proud to be a football player. Be especially proud of being part of a
community rich in football tradition - Be proud to be a CHIEF!
8. ACCOUNTABILITY:
If you make a mistake, don't point your finger; instead own up to it and learn from it.
It's ok to make mistakes as long as you learn from them and try not to repeat them.
9. RESPECT:
Respect your coaches, your teammates, your opponents, the officials and most of all, the game.
Your coaches will also respect you! When a coach is talking, you should be looking at him and listening.
If a teammate makes a mistake, it is your job to encourage him & try to make him feel
better not worse. Endzone celebrations or any type of "hot dogging" on the field will result
in your removal from the game.
10. TEAM:
This is a team sport… it's not about YOU, it's about US -
WE ARE THE CALDWELL A-TEAM !!
"Individual commitment to a group effort-that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work."
