Burlington County Times Softball Preview
Coach: Tara Corcoran
2011 division record: 5-2
2011 overall record: 11-10
Returnees: Andi Veneziale (sr., infield), Selena Senechai (sr., second base), Meghin Stanton (jr., pitcher), Danielle Pandl (jr., outfield), Kacie Herity (soph, outfield).
Newcomers: Alexia Pagan (sr., catcher, transfer from Rancocas Valley), Courtney Funk (soph, outfield), Katie Barron (soph, outfield), Ashley Sheppard (soph, infield), Meredith Taylor (frosh, infield), Morgan Clauser (frosh, pitcher).
Top returnee: Senechai and Veniziale. “Selena’s a four-year starter, and she and Andi will be captains together,” Corcoran said. “They work really well together and they both lead by example. I’m excited for them and expect them to have huge senior years.”
Outlook: “We’ve been through some ups and downs in our scrimmages, but we have a team that works well together and wants to work on things they need to improve,” Corcoran said. “I’m excited. I think we could surprise a lot of people this year.”
The BCT says: The Greyhounds could make the Liberty a race again.
Prediction: Second.
