Returnees: Meghin Stanton (sr., pitcher), Katie Barron (jr., outfield), Kacie Herity (jr., shortstop), Ashley Sheppard (jr., first base), Morgan Clauser (soph, pitcher), Meredith Taylor (soph, catcher-inf).
Newcomers: Megan Mayernik (frosh, second base), Shaye Santos (frosh, outfield), Rachel Taylor (frosh, utility), Alex Zulla (frosh, third base-of), Ashley Zulla (frosh, catcher-if), Savannah Bowen (soph, utility), Haile Bell (soph, utility), Morgan Sisz (soph, first base-of), Emmaline Armstrong (jr., pitcher), Clarissa Chimenti (soph, outfield), Christina Scharko (sr., infield).
Top returnee: Stanton. “Meghin leads by example as a captain,” Corcoran said. “She’ll keep Northern a contender on the mound and with her bat and leadership.”
Outlook: “Strong pitching and solid bats in the lineup will make N.B.C. a competitor in most games,” Corcoran said.
The BCT says: Realigning didn’t make the Liberty Division any easier. Northern has the potential to play with any team on its schedule, but will be hard-pressed, especially early in the year, to play every game at that high level.
Prediction: Third.
