The Fuego were formed in the fall of 2006 as the Purple People Eaters, a CYA U-11 recreational team. In three seasons in the Suburban Friendship League, we made it to all three division finals and won two championships.
After reaching the semi-finals of the 2007 Mega-Blast tournament in Midlothian, Virginia, we realized it was time to step up to the next level.
In the spring of 2008, we joined the Chantilly Soccer Club as the Chantilly Fuego. Since then we have competed in nine seasons in the Old Dominion Soccer League before moving to the the Washington Area Girls Soccer League (WAGS) in the fall of 2012. In addition, we participated in numerous tournaments, including:

Over time, we have added terrific and talented players from a number of teams and towns. While our focus remains to have fun, we have also had success both in league and tournament play, and continued to grow as a team.
Not bad for a former rec league team with a dancing mascot named "Steve".

The Hunt Country Classic Tournament was a great success for the FUEGO. They played four excellent games against some very good teams, making the semi-finals. They also found time to take a hillside siesta!

The FUEGO take a well deserved break in the shade between games during day 2 of the the Bull Run Classic, during which they faced two WAGS teams and played AMAZING!

FPYC Liberty Cup
The FUEGO completed another terrific tournament. They were finalists going 2-1-1, including a 2-2 tie with the LFC Avalanche, and outscoring their opponents by a combined score of 10-5. It was a strong start to the spring season. For a full recap, click on the Liberty Cup shield above
