Message from Ann Marie Dincher

The Challenger Division of Little League Baseball is a program for mentally and
physically disabled youth to enjoy the full benefits of Little League
participation in an athletic environment structured to their abilities. The
philosophy of the Little League Challenger Division is to provide the framework
so that every Little League program may offer a structured, athletic activity
for all youth in the community.

The Challenger Division will provide boys and girls, ages 5 through 21, the
opportunity to participate in a safe playing environment and participation in
Little League baseball. The focus is on having fun while learning the game of
baseball. The rules are modified to include that no score is kept, each player
bats every inning, and everyone plays the entire game.

The Challenger Division will also include a "buddy" system, in which youth and
adult volunteers assist players throughout the season to ensure their safety and
success.

This is our 4th year and we currently have 20 players on our roster.

We are sponsored by Dincher & Dincher Tree Surgeons.

My players all share the same goal with everyone which is a simple love for the
game of baseball, the feeling of belonging to a team, celebrating a great
victory, giving a simple high five, and running across home plate. Things that
most of us take for granted. These are all similarities that we all share. We
may not look the same on the outside, may not think the same way, may not have
working legs, and arms but inside we all want the same thing. And that is
simply to play ball…

This team brings me nothing but complete joy. This is one of the best programs
I have ever had the pleasure to be part of. It goes way beyond the game. It is
truly an amazing experience not only for the players, coaches, and families but
being a BUDDY is a great way to make a difference in someone else's life. So
thanks to all the area Buddies out there you GUYS & GIRLS ROCK!
