The Rockets suffered a 4-1 setback to the Rossford Bulldogs in the opener on Tuesday played all over the city of Rossford. Dereck Witt playing his first varsity match had the tough task of playing first singles. He dropped a 6-0,6-1 match to Ryan Ewarts. Second singles Bobby Lochotzki lost a tough 6-4,6-3 match to Andy Hotz. Third singles Clifford Goetz, playing his first varsity match, played a good player in Mark Hotz but dropped a 6-4,6-4 match at third.
At second doubles Adam Lenke and Cody Adams scrapped in both sets but dropped both by a score of 6-3,6-3 to Tyler Kanary and Kyle Keller. The varsity story of the day was Andy Biggert and freshman Brandon Wasserman who rallied from a set down to record a 3-6,6-3,6-4 win over Tyler Apt and Andrew Bohland at first doubles. Rossford is now 1-1 and the Rockets are now 0-1.
The Junior Varsity whipped the Bulldogs 5-1. Winning at doubles were JC Hemminger and Alex Reif, Dave Guerrero and Nic Kleman, Nick Johnson and Cody Schuchert, and singles Tyler Biggert and Kevin Young. Isaac Puckett and Kyle Wendt lost at doubles. The Rocket JV is 1-0.

The Rockets edged past Sylvania Southview by a score of 3-2 on Monday. Bobby Lochotzki played two-time district qualifier Jacob Craig tough losing by a score of 6-4,6-1. Dereck Witt outlasted Mark Rothstein 4-6,6-2,6-3 at second singles. Clifford Goetz had little trouble with Corey Dawnhauer at third singles beating him 6-1,6-3. First doubles, Andy Biggert and Brandon Wasserman won their second straight beating Adrian Ng and Tom Bunting 6-2,6-3. Second doubles Adam Lenke and Cody Adams dropped a 6-3,6-4 match to Max Zorick and Vinnie Thepsourinthane. Southview is now 3-1 and the Rockets are 1-1.
The JV was beaten by Southview 5-2. Winning at doubles were the teams of Dave Guerrero and Nic Kleman and JC Hemminger and Zach Goetz. The Rocket JV is 1-1. The varsity travels to Lake tonight.

The Rockets swept the Lake Flyers 5-0 Tuesday afternoon at Lake High School. Starting the Rockets out at first singles was Bobby Lochotzki. Bobby beat Brian Castleman 6-0,6-3. Second singles Dereck Witt wasted no time ousting David Cahin 6-0,6-0. Clifford Goetz whipped Mark Wasserman 6-0,6-0 at third singles. The first doubles team of Andy Biggert and Brandon Wasserman stayed undefeated beating Jason Beker and Dan Keller 6-4,6-4. Adam Lenke and Cody Adams also won at second doubles taking out Nathan Brick and Jason Jarvis 6-3,6-0. The Rockets are now 2-1 and Lake falls to 1-2. The Rockets travel to Rodger Young Park Thursday to play SJCC.

The Rockets defeated the Clyde Flyers 3-2 at Clyde Tuesday afternoon in the opening match of SBC play. At first singles Bobby Lochotzki lost at tough three-setter to Derek Foreman 6-2,1-6,6-4. Dereck Witt edged James Wott 6-4,6-1 at second singles. Clifford Goetz had no problems with Danny Michaels 6-2,6-3 at third singles. Andy Biggert and Brandon Wasserman stayed undefeated at first doubles beating Ben Stickey and Matt Cammarn 6-3,6-3. Second doubles Adam Lenke and Cody Adams lost to Lucas Cooley and Jon Hill 6-1,6-3.
The Rocket JV won 6-4 over Clyde. Winning at singles was JC Hemminger, Kevin Young, and Bryan Winters. Doubles winners were Nic Kleman and Dave Guerrero, Jesse Baker and Alex Reif, and also Zach Jess and Tyler McNutt.

The Rockets advance to the round of thirty-two in the state tournament with their fourth straight victory. This one was a 3-2 comeback win over Archbold. Archbold came in at 4-2 after their win over Norwalk. The Rockets got the early lead after first doubles Andy Biggert and Brandon Wasserman cruised to their fifth straight win of the season, this time over Jack Beck and Micah McQuillan 6-3,6-1. Archbold evened it up as Logan Moody defeated Bobby Lochotzki at first singles 6-3,6-2. The Rockets were on the verge of elimination as third singles Clifford Goetz fell to Ian Redd 7-6(7-4),6-1. Second doubles then came back Adam Lenke and Cody Adams beat Jacob Lange and Andre Hurst 7-6(7-2),4-6,6-3. Second singles, Dereck Witt rallied from a set down against Chase Sauder winning it 4-6,7-5,6-4. Dereck rallied from a 4-1 deficit for the third point in the Rocket victory. The Rockets improve to 4-1 and Archbold falls to 4-3. Next up for the Rockets is SMCC at home on Monday.

Mother nature again shined on the Rockets as they edged SMCC 3-2. At first singles, Bobby Lochotzki lost to Austin Opfer 6-3,6-1. Dereck Witt lost to Joe Miller 6-2,7-6. Clifford Goetz played a great match defeating Patrick Chambers 6-4,6-0. First doubles remained undefeated as Andy Biggert and Brandon Wasserman whipped Jake Massinek and Marco Spadero 6-3,6-0. Second doubles Adam Lenke and Cody Adams made it two straight with a 6-2,6-2 victory over Matt Bunn and Richie Longer.
The Rocket Junior Varsity also won over SMCC. They won 3-0. Winning at singles was JC Hemminger and the doubles teams of Nic Kleman and Dave Guerrero and also Brian Winters and Nick Johnson.
The Rocket Varsity is now 5-1 in the league and 2-0 in the SBC and the JV is now 3-1 AND 2-0 in the SBC. Tomorrow the Rockets travel to Rodger Young Park in Fremont to play SJCC.

The Streak reaches six as the Rockets edged the SJCC Streaks 3-2. Bobby Lochotzki played great tennis but came up short 7-5,6-4 to Eric Barbor at first singles. Dereck Witt also battled but came up a little short 6-3,5-7,6-3 to Chris Wobser at second singles. The rest of the Rockets had little trouble. Clifford Goetz disposed of Matt Barbor 6-3,6-0 at third singles. First doubles improve to 8-0 with a 6-0,6-0 win over Derek Dickman and Antow Kubisch. Second doubles Adam Lenke and Cody Adams whipped Mike Sanchez and Jordan Frank 6-1,6-0.
The Rocket JV also defeated SJCC by a score of 5-1. Winning at doubles were the teams of Nic Kleman and Dave Guerrero, JR Hemminger and Tyler Biggert, Kevin Young and Bryan Winters, Jesse Baker and Alex Reif, Isaac Puckett and Kyle Wendt.

The Rockets narrowly escaped with a 3-2 victory at Edison Thursday night. The Rockets began the rally down a set on every one of Edison's four courts. At first singles Bobby Lochotzki fell to tough Tyler Stewart 6-2,6-1. First doubles Andy Biggert and Brandon Wasserman also lost in three sets to Bryan Schmidt and Ben Smith 6-2,5-7,6-1. Clifford Goetz at third singles rallied against Nathan Seamans 3-6,6-3,6-1. Second doubles Adam Lenke and Cody Adams also rallied to beat Bryan Wood and Jamie Wilson 4-6,7-6(7-4),6-2. Derrick Witt finished up with an easy 6-1,6-0 win over Tyler Camello at second singles.

Clifford Goetz had few problems at third singles with Tim Brooke winning 6-3,6-3. First doubles Andy Biggert and Kevin Young lost to Jon Wylie and Drew Pezzin 6-3,6-4. Second doubles Adam Lenke and Cody Adams took care of business downing Chad Campbell and Tiffany Wylie 6-0,6-3.

Dereck Witt saved nine match points in the third set winning in dramatic fashion 3-6,6-3,7-5. Clifford Goetz dropped a close match to Matt Weiss 7-5 7-6(7-5). Andy Biggert and Brandon Wasserman defeated Michael Murray and Alex Kinsel 6-4,6-3. Second doubles Adam Lenke and Cody Adams beat Austin Reyes and Ted Bertsch 6-0,7-5.

Third singles Clifford Goetz had no problems with Max Gimperling 6-0,6-1. First doubles Andy Biggert and Brandon Wasserman defeated Geoff Barcus and Josh Hillman 6-1,6-4. Adam Lenke and Cody Adams rolled over Robbie Hafner and Jon Hicks 6-2,6-0.

The Redskins swept the Rockets at The Verdi Von Thron Complex in Port Clinton on Tuesday. The Rockets appeared a little rusty and never recovered from a slow start against the rolling Redskins.

Second singles Dereck Witt whipped Derek Foreman 6-2,6-0. Matt Cammarn beat Brandon Wasserman 6-2,6-1. Andy Biggert and Clifford Goetz beat James Wott and Josh Bender 6-4,7-6. Second doubles lost a close match as Adam Lenke and Cody Adams dropped a 6-7,6-4,6-4 match to Ben Stickney and Lucas Cooley. The SMCC Panthers beat Oak Harbor 3-2. At first singles Bobby Lochotzki lost to Austin Opfer 7-5,6-1. Second singles Dereck Witt beat Marco Spadero 6-2,6-1. Clifford Goetz beat Matt Runn 6-7(3-7),6-3,6-1 at thrid singles. First doubles Andy Biggert and Brandon Wasserman lost to Joe Miller and Addison Traut 6-3,6-4. Adam Lenke and Cody Adams lost to Jake Marsiniak and Richie Longer 6-3,5-7,7-6(8-6) at second doubles. The Rockets fall to 13-5 and 8-4 in the SBC and finish in third place in the league.

Lima Shawnee ends the Rockets season with a 4-1 loss. At first singles Peter Boyer beat Bobby Lochotzki 6-2,6-2. Second singles Dereck Witt lost to Andrew Wade 6-1,6-1. Stephen Tucker topped Brandon Wasserman 7-6(7-3),6-0. First doubles Andy Biggert and Clifford Goetz beat Andrew Weller and Erich Wade 6-2,7-5. Second doubles Adam Lenke and Kevin Young lost to Jon Lawson and Cody Clark 4-6,6-3,6-3. The Rockets end the season at 13-6 and Lima Shawnee improves to 13-4.

First doubles dropped a 6-3, 6-3 match to Adrian Ng and Tom Bunting. Second doubles Adam Lenke and Kevin Young beat Sushil Sundershan and Kamran Salari 6-2, 4-6, 6-0. The Rockets are 1-1 and Southview is 2-1.
The Rocket JV lost to Southview 4-2. The winners were Tyler Biggert and Nick Johnson. The JV is now 0-1-1.

The Rockets advanced to the second round of the State Team Tournament on Saturday. At first singles Greg LaFountain lost to Alex Steinmetz 6-1, 6-1. Bobby Lochotzki cruised by Andrew Holmes 6-1, 6-0. Third singles Clifford Goetz eased past Nick Popa 6-1, 6-0. First doubles Dereck Witt and Brandon Wasserman had no problem with Greg Reimersma and Kyle Mc Kelvey 6-2, 6-3. Second doubles Adam Lenke and Kevin Young topped Steven Leonard and Lucas Zidarin 6-1, 6-0. The Rockets are now 2-1 and Willard is 1-3. The next tournament opponent will be Shelby.

Second doubles Adam Lenke and Kevin Young dropped T. Wylie and A. Batt 6-0, 6-3. The JV won 4-1. Winning at singles was Devin Meek. The Rocket Tennis win the 2008 Sandusky Invite held at Sandusky High School. The Rockets won four championships enroute to a 58 point victory over second place Mansfield Madison.

The Rockets beat Rossford 4-1 Friday at Oak Harbor. At first singles Greg LaFountain beat Ryan Evarts 6-4, 6-4. Bobby Lochotzki beat Mark Hotz 6-4, 6-4. Clifford Goetz had no problems with Tyler Apt winning 6-0, 6-2. Dereck Witt and Brandon Wasserman defeated Andy Hotz and Andrew Bohland 6-4, 6-4. Kevin Young and Nick Johnson lost to Kyle Keller 6-0, 7-5. The Rockets are now 9-2 and Rossford is 7-3.

Bobby Lochotzki had no problems with Chris Wiehe winning 6-0, 6-0 at second singles. Cliff Goetz whipped Ray Young 6-1, 6-1 at third singles. Chaz Herzog and Abe Hamad beat Dereck Witt and Brandon Wasserman 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 at first singles. Adam Lenke and Kevin Young saved the day for the Rockets winning at second doubles over Michael Murray and Jacob Greely 7-5, 6-2. The Rockets are now 12-2 and 7-1 in the SBC.

Th Rockets beat the Shelby Whippets 4-1 on Tuesday to advance to the quarterfinals in the NW Ohio State Team Tournament. First singles Greg LaFountain outlasted Sean Weaver 6-7 (4-7), 7-5, 6-3. Second singles Logan Weaver edged Bobby Lochotzki 6-3, 6-4. Third singles Clifford Goetz defeated Chase Evans 7-6 (7-1), 6-1. At singles in the Port Clinton Sectional the Rockets are sending two singles players to the district tournament on Thursday. Freshman Greg LaFountain won the sectional defeating Sam Wagner of Bellevue 6-1, 6-4 and Derek Dickman of St. Joe 6-2, 6-0 and teammate Adam Lenke 6-1, 6-0 and Tyler Buchanan of Bellvue 6-3, 7-6, (7-2).
Second singles Adam Lenke beat Logan Francisco of Edison 6-1, 6-0 then defeated Patrick Chamber of SMCC 6-4, 6-0 and Jon Hill of Clyde 6-2, 6-1. Adam lost to teammate Greg LaFountain 6-1, 6-0 but rebounded to beat Matt Weiss of Perkins 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. Adam and Greg will play at districts on Thursday.

The Rocket Tennis team blanked a second straight opponent 5-0. At Rodger Young Park the Rockets swept the SJCC Crimson Streaks. At first singles Greg LaFountain downed Chris Wobser 6-1, 6-3. Dereck Witt defeated Matt Barbour 6-3, 6-0. Kevin Young blanked Derek Dickman 6-0, 6-0 at third singles. Bobby Lochotzki and Cliff Goetz stomped Tyler Cleveland and Jordan Frank 6-0, 6-1 at first doubles. Second doubles Brandon Wasserman shook off the buslag after the long trip to defeat Paul Blohm and Sam Hossler 5-7, 6-0, 6-0. The Rockets are now 2-0 and SJCC is 0-2.

The Rockets swept the Norwalk Truckers 5-0 on Thursday at OHHS. At first singles Greg LaFountain defeated Kyle Scheid 6-0, 6-3. Dereck Witt eased past Josh Boroff at second singles 6-1, 6-2. Third singles Kevin Young downed Sid Beier 6-0, 6-4. Bobby Lochotzki and Cliff Goetz had no problems with Drew Schaffer and Sam Gerkin winning 6-1, 6-1 at first doubles. Second doubles Brandon Wasserman and Nick Johnson rallied for a hard fought 6-7(5-7), 6-3, 6-4 win over Ryan Ziemke and Kyle Lodermeier.
For Wasserman it was doubles win number 38 moving him into a tie for first place for career doubles wins.
