 Welcome to the home of the Spring 2014 season of the Gametime Stars 01! We are a 12A competitive fastpitch travel team based out of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

We are maintaining the Oklahoma Gametime Star traditions, and are getting better and better every season!  The coming years we will continue to compete harder as we prepare for college exposures in 2015.  In growing together as a team, we will maintain the Gametime Academy standard in developing each team member as a hard working player who will always strive to improve and challenge their abilities in the game of fastpitch.  We are the Gametime Stars!

July 30-August 2, 2014
ASA 12A Southern Nationals
Fort Worth, TX
We did it!  After 12 previous tournaments of preparation, and practices starting last December, the Gametime Stars 01 ladies came out and won the big one!  With continued hard work, perseverance and determination, we found our award of sweet success.   WE ARE 2014 ASA NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!
Overall, the Stars put up a total of 66 runs on the board and only allowed 12.  In the championship game with the West Texas Elite 01, these girls came alive!  In the 4th inning they made a pact to end it that inning by putting up 8 runs on the board and finishing in a blaze of glory by run ruling their opponent 12-0.  WE JUST WISH THEY COULD DO THAT ALL THE TIME!
Congratulations to the West Texas Elite for taking Runner Up in Nationals!  Our girls will now be heading home as they prepare to play school ball.  GREAT SEASON Gametime Stars 01!   (1st of 23 teams)

February 22-23, 2013
12&A Texas Elite Invitational Friendly
Midlothean, Texas

Our first travel team friendly of the year and we headed down south to face some of the best clubs in Texas! We played the Glory Casheon, Glory Blue, Texas Impact Gold, Texas Blaze, Texas Bombers Elite, and the NTX Bombers. All great teams from great travel clubs. As a result of this tournament we received 1st place! Nice work ladies! You showed what you have as we build the Gametime Stars 01 into a great team!  (1st of 8 teams)

March 22-23, 2014
12A ASA HOF Spring Challenge
ASA Hall of Fame; OKC, OK
All the best 12A teams in Oklahoma came together this weekend! And the team that took the Championship? Well we had to play them twice!  And 4 of the 6 Runs against them came from us.  Congrats to the OK Diamond Girls! A lot of future D1 players on their team! We'll look forward to meeting you again, but hopefully not when the temperature is 32 degrees! Also, congrats to Caleigh and Caroline for going yard!  This is the kind of stuff we will see a lot of this year!  Now the Gametime Girls will be getting ready to adjust and play at the 43 foot pitching distance for a month and a half!   (3rd of 8 teams)
Congrats to Caleigh and Caroline for going yard!

Chickasha, OK
OUR FIRST 14U TOURNAMENT THIS WEEKEND! Coach Scott told the girls, "At 43 feet pitching distance, this game becomes a hitter's game!" And would you know it he was right! This weekend the Gametime Stars 01 bats came alive! After handily winning all our pool games, we faced a tough and well coached Force 2000 team who handed us a long long trip out of the losers bracket. But the Gametime Stars girls never gave up. On Sunday, they battled out of that losers bracket 6 games straight with no breaks for TEN HOURS! In the championship we faced a fresh Force 2000 team. We were tired, hungry, and worn down, but we still put those runs on the board only to come up short in the Championship by 3 runs. Eleven games this weekend! Way to make a statement Gametime! 2nd of 14 teams playinng up.  WE ARE ALL SO PROUD OF YOU!  Next week we will be playing a friendly in Shawnee at the 14Us. Let's keep this train rolling!  (2nd of 13 teams)

“Softball is like love, first you learn the rules of the game, and then you forget the rules and play from your heart.” -- Author Unknown.

Playing with heart is so important in this game when we want to compete and compete well. Otherwise, we’re just “playing a game” and just “getting by” in this sport. Choose to play with heart!

We will be off for the next two weeks. Everyone keep working hard during practices and have a good Easter, but then let’s get ready to get after it on April 26th in Chickasha!   (3rd of 6)

My grandpa use to say that if you set a good thorougbred racehorse in the infield and let enough other horses breeze by, well that thoroughbred will run handily and faster then ever. That's what happened this weekend. We've been sitting in that infield for two weeks. Once our bats lit up, they never stopped! Overall, we scored 58 runs and allowed only 2 runs in. In this I'm reminded of another Gametime team I've watched develop since 2008. A lot of their action came from talent and hard work just like us.  (1st of 16 teams)  I just want to add:
When you get up in the morning and the light is hurt your head;
The first thing you do when you get up out of bed;
Is hit that field a-runnin' and try to meet the masses;
And go get yourself some CHEAP sunglasses;
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah (And thats all I have to say about that.)

An excellent jobs by our Gametime Stars 01 ladies this weekend!  Coming up from last week's 12U tournament at the 40 foot distance, the girls had to readjust to the extra 3 feet this weekend.  It took us a game to get there, but once we did we turned up the heat and got it done.  Two great battles between two great teams!  Us and the Force 01s.  The GT Stars prevailed and defeated the Force both times by one run.  This was our last 14U tournament, so put away the steel cleats and let's readjust to 40' again as we move down to 12s for the rest of the season and prepare for our travel games.  Go Stars!  (1st of 8 teams)

The most important thing on any tournament is finishing. This is something the Gametime Stars 01 have been doing very well! In the last three weekends we have played three tournaments winning 16 games out of 17 games total. We have made 159 runs and allowed 31 runs to score. But at the end of every week our girls have learned to finish. The girls will be taking a break next weekend as we prepare to travel to Kansas City for the ASA 12A Memorial Day Invitational. So lets stand in the infield for a bit, and watch the other teams breeze. Kansas City here we come!   (1st of 10 teams)
May 24-26, 2014
12A ASA KC Memorial Day Invitational
Kansas City, MO
"I'm goin' to Kansas City, Kansas City here I come!" Some of our girls probably don't know the Little Willy Littlefield song from the 50s.  The song always comes to mind when some of us go to KC. The Kansas City area also brings to mind Barbeque, Cattle, Jazz, Blues, and the jumping point for the Oregon Trail in the westward expansion. For our Gametime Stars 01 team, Kansas City means softball! We started this tournament facing a 4 hour rain delay, but once we got started we came on tough. In our first 6 pool games we came out first with 5 wins and 1 tie. We tied the KC Originals 0-0 in an all out pitching and defensive game. In the single elimination bracket as we approached the championship, our bats were unable to come through as we faced what use to be the NW Arkansas Knockouts, now called the Phenix. Next week we will be back at it again in the OKC Triple Crown as we play and watch the College Womans World Series at the same time!   (3rd of 24 teams)

I recently recieved as a gift from a friend (who is an All American secondbase from the ULL Ragin Cagins) a book on the mental game. The book, written by Brian Cain, is called, "Toilets, Bricks, Fish Hooks and Pride". My friend's past coach and good friend Patrick Murphy (head coach of UA Crimson Tide) credits this book on Alabama's 2012 National Title. As I read this book, I ponder on how the Gametime Stars 01 can benefit from it in their mental game. There are good teams and there are great teams. A good team has the physical ability to play well, but a great team adds a quality of performance through the mental conditioning of an athlete that helps them play at the next level. Our Gametime Stars 01s played really good this weekend, and won 3rd place. But it's now time to step it up and learn to play GREAT!  (3rd of 22 teams)
Congrats to Janelle and Courtney for going yard!

14B USSSA State Tournament
Firelake; Shawnee, OK
We played up again with teams that were up to two years older then us. And why? To make us better! It's time to peak out Gametime Stars! Let's bring our game to a higher level as we prepare to face the best teams in Oklahoma in our age group and then on to the Sparkler Junior and Nationals!

May 18-22, 2014
12A ASA State Tournament
Broken Arrow, OK
"Do you believe it now Trinity?" That was what Morpheus said after Neo showed he was "The One" in the Matrix. And now that the ASA State 12A tournament has ended, we have to ask our Gametime Stars 01 fans the same thing. Who would have thought that we could go 9 games with so many of Oklahoma's best teams in the state and take 2nd place? And we almost took the Championship in the IF GAME if it wasn't for the rain knocking off our momentum in the end! Competition is what this game is about! We competed very well this weekend with the best teams from our state. The OK Vendetta 01, Machine 01, Tulsa Elite 01, Tulsa Eagles Black, Diamond Girls 01 and the Force 01. We did very well and the coaching staff commends all our ladies. Way to compete! Now let's get ready for the Colorado sparkler Junior. BELIEVE!   (2nd of 9 teams)
June 30 - July 6, 2014
12U Colorado Sparkler Junior
Barnes Field; Loveland, CO
"Be careful what you ask for or you just might get it!"  The Vendetta coach said this to me and I said, "Yep!  That's right!"  All three of our Oklahoma teams had made it into the GOLD bracket and had lost our first games.  We were facing some tough competition.  Teams from California and Texas that were very good.  We ended it with a head to head competition against the California Firecrackers 2019 that went into a triple ITB.  Time to regroup and get ready for the Fort Worth Nationals!  (17th of 55 teams)

A great achievement for the 2014 season. These girls came to the ASA State Tournament with a winner's attitude. Through extreme perseverance and resilience they battle with the best teams from Oklahoma to achieve their success. Now it’s on to Colorado and the ASA Nationals!
