Coaching Information

If you expressed interest in coaching, our process involves MTTBA Board approval following a brief discussion with the candidate. Discussion topics we'll focus on and coach characteristics that we're seeking include, but not limited to:

Coaching & Youth Coaching experience
Basketball Acumen
Player Development
Team Culture & Sportsmanship
Practice and Teaching Approach
Communication & Leadership
Committment Level (seek coaches that are willing to coach for many years)
General fit within the MTTBA mission/values

Additionally, MTTBA requires ALL volunteers to provide the standard three Child Clearances, dated within the last five years, listed below:

1. CHILD ABUSE HISTORY CLEARANCE
No cost. Valid for five (5) years.

2. PA CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECK
No cost. Valid for five (5) years.

3. One of the following depending on how long you have lived in PA.

a.) PA RESIDENCY AFFIDAVIT
If you have been a Pennsylvania resident for the previous 10 consecutive years

Please visit PA Residency Affidavit.

This form is for persons who have been residents of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania during the entirety of the previous 10-year period and who are applying to serve Coaches. You must provide the MTTBA with the completed and signed PA Residency Affidavit prior to volunteering.

b.) FBI FINGERPRINT CHECK
For PA residents of fewer than 10 years.
