Little League® Residency Eligibility & School Attendance Instructions & Checklist

Players are eligible to participate in the local Little League where either:

  • They reside​ 

    OR

  • They attend school (physical location of the school must be within league boundaries)

These boundaries are approved by Little League® International.


Residency Must Be Verified Annually

Each year, families must provide either:

  1. A completed School Enrollment Form

    OR

  2. Three documents showing proof of residency (outlined below)


Option 1: School Enrollment Form

Players attending school in Hoboken can submit the School Enrollment Form instead of other residency documents

  • This form must be completed with your child’s school administration

  • It must confirm enrollment for the current academic year, dated before October 1 of the prior year

  • The school’s physical address must be included

Do NOT finalize registration without submitting this form or the alternative residency documents – your registration will be marked as incomplete

❗Note: This option is only for children attending school in Hoboken
If your child attends school outside Hoboken, you must submit residency documentation (see below)

❌ Not accepted: School-issued report cards or performance records

Option 2: Residency Documentation

If your child does not attend school in Hoboken, you must submit three documents, one from each of the categories below, as proof of residency

🧑‍🎓 Example: A Hoboken resident attending high school in another town (e.g., SPP, SHP, Xavier, Regis, High Tech) must follow this process

Important:
All documents must include the parent/guardian’s name, full residential address, and must be dated between February 1 of the previous year and February 1 of the current year


Group 1 – Choose ONE:

  • Driver’s license

  • School records

  • Vehicle records (e.g., registration, lease)

  • Employment records

  • Insurance documents


Group 2 – Choose ONE:

  • Welfare or child care records

  • Federal records (e.g., tax, social security)

  • State or local government records

  • Support payment records

  • Homeowner or tenant documents

  • Military records


Group 3 – Choose ONE:

  • Voter registration

  • Utility bills (gas, electric, phone, heating, etc.)

  • Financial records (loan, credit, investment)

  • Medical records

  • Internet, cable, or satellite bills

     

⚠️ Important Notes:

  • Three documents from the same group count as only ONE proof of residency

  • No document can be used for multiple groups
    (e.g., a water bill used for Group 2 can’t also count as a utility for Group 3)
