📅 REGISTRATION DATES

  • Opens: January 28, 2026 at 9:00 a.m.
  • Deadline: February 20, 2026 at 11:30 p.m.

⚠️ IMPORTANT

  • Players and volunteers must complete all registration steps before the deadline
  • Registrations submitted after the deadline will be waitlisted
  • Early registration is strongly recommended to avoid last-minute issues

 


REGISTRATION OVERVIEW – READ FIRST!

  • Registration is governed by Hoboken Little League (HLL)
  • DO NOT register through RECDESK or Hoboken Recreation Department
  • Children ages 3–6 are not eligible for the HLL baseball program. Families with children in this age range should follow Hoboken Recreation on RECDESK for programming information
  • Prepare all required documents before starting registration (birth certificate + residency verification)

Key Reminders

  • Registration requires TWO separate online steps every season, including new members, returning players, and volunteers
    1. Registration is completed on Blue Sombrero to join the HLL charter
    2. League communication and team management are handled through TeamSnap
  • Players trying out for Minor League (ages 8–9) or Majors (ages 9–12) must complete an additional tryout sign-up form
    • Players aged 10+ must try out for the Majors
    • If age overlaps across divisions (Age 9), select the desired option
    • No tryout is required for Coach Pitch (7) or Minor Juniors (8–9)

STEP 1: Finalize Documents & Register on Blue Sombrero (REQUIRED)

Player Fees (confirmed at checkout - DO NOT MANUALLY ENTER FEES, the computer automatically calculates based on player profile/data):

    • Hoboken Residents: $65
    • Non-Residents Attending School in Hoboken: $100
    • Free/Reduced Lunch: NO FEE (Use Coupon Code: HLLFREE at checkout)
    • Volunteers: NO FEE

STEP 2: Complete a NEW SIGN-UP on TeamSnap (REQUIRED)

  • Required every season, even for returning players and volunteers
    • Returning participants: click “NEW SIGN UP”
  • TeamSnap used for:
    • Rosters
    • Schedules
    • League Communications
    • Team Management
  • Failure to complete will delay rostering and participation
  • App access is granted after draft/team formation (late March/early April)

 


STEP 3: Sign up for Tryout Session (ONLY If Applicable)

Players trying out for Minor League (8–9) or Majors (9–12) must complete one evaluation sign-up form below:

REMINDER: 

  • Players aged 10+ must tryout for the Majors / Age 9 can select either Minor League or Majors
  • Players cannot tryout for two divisions - select ONE division and complete ONE form

 


📝 PLAYER DOCUMENTATION & RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS

Documentation must be uploaded directly to Blue Sombrero before finalizing registration

Required for ALL Players:

  • Birth Certificate, AND
  • ONE residency verification option (submitted annually)
    • Option A: School Enrollment Form or
    • Option B: Three Proofs of Residency

For players attending school in Hoboken:

    • Must complete with a school administrator in advance
    • Report cards or school letters NOT accepted
    • Upload completed form to Blue Sombrero
    • On the form, select:
      • League: Hoboken Little League
      • League ID: 2300706
      • Division Note: Select “MINOR” for Coach Pitch or Minor Juniors

For players not attending school in Hoboken:

    • Submit three separate documents
    • Documents must:
      • Show parent/court-appointed guardian name
      • Include full Hoboken residence address
      • Dated between February 1, 2025 – February 1, 2026
    • Submit:
      • ONE document from EACH group below
      • Three documents from the same group count as only one

        • Driver’s license
        • School records
        • Vehicle records (registration, lease, etc.)
        • Employment records
        • Insurance documents

GROUP 2 (Choose one):

        • Welfare or child-care records
        • Federal records (tax, Social Security, etc.)
        • State records
        • Local/municipal records
        • Support payment records
        • Homeowner or tenant records
        • Military records

GROUP 3 (Choose one):

        • Voter registration
        • Utility bills (gas, electric, phone, heating, etc.)
        • Financial records (loan, credit, investments, etc.)
        • Medical records
        • Internet, cable, or satellite records

 

 


VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES & REQUIREMENTS

HLL relies on volunteers! Openings may include:

  • Team Managers / Head Coaches
  • Assistant Coaches

Currently seeking coaches for:

  • Coach Pitch
  • Minor Juniors
  • Minor League

Limited openings available in the Majors (TBD)

1) Complete Abuse Awareness Course

  • Background checks from other organizations are not accepted
