Junior League Bat Regulation (13-14s)

IMPORTANT BAT REMINDER (Junior League – Ages 13–14)

To ensure player safety and compliance with Little League International rules, please review the approved bat standards for the 2026 season:

Approved Bats

  • USA Baseball–certified bats (must display the USA Baseball stamp)
  • BBCOR-certified bats (must display the BBCOR certification mark)
  • Wood bats (solid, one-piece wood bats; no USA stamp required)

Prohibited Bats

  • USSSA (“UTrip”) bats with the 1.15 BPF stamp are NOT allowed in Junior League

Bat Specifications

  • Maximum length: 34 inches
  • Maximum barrel diameter: 2⅝ inches
  • Wood bats:
    • Minimum diameter at smallest part: 15/16 inch
    • For bats under 30 inches: 7/8 inch minimum
    • Tape or sleeve on handle may not exceed 18 inches

ℹ️ Additional Notes

  • BBCOR bats must display a permanent rectangular certification mark (at least ½ inch in size) on the barrel
  • Alloy/composite bats must be clearly labeled with their material
  • Solid one-piece wood bats do not require a USA Baseball stamp

Why This Matters

Junior League allows BBCOR bats, which are the standard used in high school and are designed to perform similarly to wood bats. USSSA bats are not permitted because they can produce higher exit speeds and greater distance, which can create safety concerns and inconsistencies in play. By using BBCOR bats, we maintain a safer, more balanced game while also preparing players for the transition to high school baseball.

Game Day Enforcement

  • Managers are responsible for checking all bats before each game
  • Illegal bats may not be used
  • Non-compliant bats will be removed and returned after the game
  • Repeated violations will result in further action
