In Saturday's (6/15) first game, Gally's beat Action 12 - 6 in a game highlighted by Steve Hughes 3-run homer and Rick Wall's solo HR.  Winning pitcher was Rusty Gallagher and Losing Pitcher Art Wise.  The game also featured the debut of rookie Matt Kawczak, called up from the "Development League".  In the 2nd game, American Legion avenged an earlier season loss to the Lia Group, coming out on top this time 21 - 11.  This game featured the pitching debut of Ralph Scunziano (Is there any position he doesn't play?) who was the winning pitcher and losing was Kevin Washock.

Play of the Day goes to Mike Harrigan for his nice catch of a low pop running in from LF.  Honorable mention goes to Andy Rakowsky for two fine plays (grounder and line drive) at 3B, and to Jeff Prescott for a nice running catch from short into left field, and also to Carolyn Callner who speared, then dropped a hard line drive to her right, but recovered to make a great throw to 1B.  Lots of other great fielding from all, too numerous to remember them all.

Many thanks to all of you for a very successful annual picnic day.  The weather cooperated nicely (sunny and not too hot).  We had plenty of food and drink, thanks to all of you that brought food, water, etc.  Special thanks to the early arrivers (Art, Mike, Dan, and all) who help set up the grill.  Many thanks to Bill Kosefsky and his elves for running the 50 - 50.  The winner of the 50 - 50 went to the Holub family ($120.00).  And most of all, a big thanks to Art Wise for his outstanding work at the grill (who were those sous chef's?).  Nice job everyone.  If you got forgotten, our apologies.
