In games on Saturday, July 20, in the early game, with temperatures near 90 degrees and high humidity, history was made as Bartolo Tiburcio belted a 2 run walk off home run as ROMO'S beat Action Transportation, 17-15.  This was one of the most exciting games of the year, as ROMO'S went into the top of the 7th with a 3 run lead.  With two out, Action mounted a terrific rally to go ahead into the bottom of the 7th, up by 2.  ROMO'S tied the score and Bartolo came up to end the game with his shot way over the left field fence.

In the 2nd game, an equally well-played game, Legion held off a 7th inning comeback attempt by Lia to hand on for an 11-8 win.  Lia scored 4 in the top of the 7th before bowing to the veterans.

In Sunday, July 21's games, both were blowouts.  At Ridgefield, Legion built on their Saturday win by ripping ROMO'S 28-12.  At Harriet Myers, Gally's teed off on Lia, 35-7, playing the "hit 'em where they ain't game", lots of dinky base hits with some big blows by the Hughes brothers and Ken Shaw.

Play of the Day:  Not much recorded.  Honorable mention is shared by Jonathan Halpert for a shoetop catch in right field, Mike Connelly for an over the head tumbling catch ("make an easy play look difficult), and Joe Salo for snaring a line shot back up the middle.

* If it is clear that a person got on base somehow, but it is not shown whether it is a single, double, walk, fc, whatever..., that player is given a single for their time at bat.   We have a few of those each week.  Managers should review each scoresheet before they are turned in so they accurately reflect the at bat.  In the overall stats, because it is not a frequent occurrence, it does not much matter, but please pay attention to this.  It is suggested you check several times during the game for such entries and verify.
