The Mississauga Girls Softball Association (MGSA) is an umbrella organization that provides a venue for females in Mississauga to play competitive house league softball. Through our member leagues, we provide fastpitch softball for players from age 8 to age 22, from 10U to 22U. We also have a Ladies recreational division for players 23 and up.
MGSA member leagues include Erindale Cardinals, Mississauga Majors, Mississauga North Tigers and Mississauga Southwest Hurricanes. We interlock at all ages with Etobicoke Girls Softball Milton Bats interlocks in 12U and 14U. In our Ladies division, Oakville Ladies Softball League have joined with us.
Our season runs from mid-May to late August for 22U. The 10U through 16U & Ladies season is from mid-May to mid-September. Registration is through your local league. You can email us for the league closest to you.

COVID-19 Update #3 Season Cancelled

We hope this update finds you safe and healthy. The news we have for you is not the best.

The Executive of the MGSA has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 season, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We conferred with adjoining leagues, reviewed the protocols from our governing bodies, and monitored the latest information from health authorities.

In the end, the risks to our players and families were too great to proceed.

As well, we are unsure if the City of Mississauga will permit fields by July 6 and we are not certain that the Province would allow gatherings of at least 50 people.

Since 1983, the MGSA has provided a venue for young ladies in Mississauga & the west GTA to play softball. It is what we’ve done for 37 years, and it is what we will continue to do for many more.

Stay well this summer. Enjoy the weather, and we will see you again in 2021

COVID-19 Update #2

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to unfold, we hope all our families are staying safe and healthy. We are so thankful to all our healthcare workers, first responders and all essential employees for your tireless efforts on our behalf.

We are awaiting direction from Provincial and Municipal governments, and healthcare authorities, as to when we can commence the season.

At this time, we continue to hold out hope that this will happen the week of July 6.We’ll continue to monitor this evolving situation and will follow the guidance of our public health authorities as well as Softball Canada in making a final decision in late Spring.

COVID-19 Update #1

MGSA is responding to the COVID 19 crisis in order to keep all players and their families safe. More details available here:

The MGSA and it’s member leagues are following the lead of the Provincial Government and Softball Ontario as well as the recommendations of the Region of Peel Public Health to take every action to prevent the spread of COVID 19.

The health and safety of our families is our number one concern. When we do resume play, we will commence new protocols for the season, to further protect player health and safety and comply with any City and/or Public Health directives regarding outdoor sports play.

Further updates will be provided as new information is made available. It is our intention to offer as full a season of softball as is possible

At this time, the offices of our member leagues are closed. However, all leagues are accepting online or other alternate forms of registration. If you are not sure which league you should be reaching out to, please email us, mgsa@live.ca,  with the players age and closest major intersection. We will direct you to the appropriate league. All our leagues have spaces available. Please register as soon as possible to allow them to plan for purchases that must be made to commence the season.

We realize that this is a very challenging and unprecedented time. Our member leagues thank you for your support and patience as we navigate through a process that has no playbook.

If you have any questions, please get in touch.
