Position Description: Responsible for obtaining the game schedule for the upcoming season and contacting local umpires to cover all games scheduled at Havenwood home fields for 10U and up games. Responsible for finding umpires to work games that were either rained out or rescheduled for other reasons. Maintains an umpire contact list. Encourage and promote youths who want to pursue umpiring, to attend umpire clinics and learn the game from behind the plate perspective. Work with the Equipment Manager to insure suitable umpire equipment is available for new and stand-in umpires. Keep up with Pony and League White Page rules and help convey these rules to coaches and other umpires. Helps resolve issues regarding rule interpretations presented by coaches and other umpires. Acts as a liaison between umpires and the Havenwood Board of Directors to communicate issues and recommendations. Coordinates, participates or conducts training to help train new umpires and coaches.
