In Its Second Year, Bethel Diamond Sports is Booming
Bethel Diamond Sports is excited to be spearheading an exciting project at the ballfields. Thanks to a successful inaugural season, partnership with the Reds Community Fund, and a generous donation from Ray and Tanya Courts' Bethel Youth Basketball organization, we have replaced the old rusted and warped fence on Field 2. To keep the price down, we removed the old fence ourselves.
In the last couple of weeks, Bethel Diamond Sports has purchased 160 tons of diamond dirt for our six fields. Two of our baseball coaches, Bobby Sandker and Bill Davis, spent last Saturday spreading that dirt on the fields. Be sure to thank them for their time and hard work when you see them. The fields look great! Thanks also to Utter Construction and Towne Construction Services for the use of the equipment.

Bethel Bombers Take 2nd Place in SOSLI Mid-Season Tournament
The Bethel Bombers, 7U softball team, coached by Heather and Ray Johnson, placed second in the SOSLI mid-season tournament held at WT park on May 18-19. On Saturday, the girls lost their first game to CNE 14-13, then beat Hamersville 7-3. They returned on Sunday and battled through the losers' bracket, playing 5 consecutive games in the first extremely hot day of the season, scoring a total of 62 runs. After beating WT Twisters 6-1, Mt. Orab Fireballz 15-2, and Georgetown 12-4, they faced CNE again in the championship game. The Bombers knocked CNE out of the winners' bracket with a lopsided 20-8 victory. But the girls ran out of gas during the final game, the heat and hunger taking a toll on the young players, and lost to CNE 10-9.
The Bombers played great during the entire tournament! Coach Heather Johnson praised the team's effort, "I am so incredibly proud of these girls for playing so hard and playing so great as a team!!!"
Congratulations Bethel Bombers!
