Playoff Preview
Season 12 Playoffs have arrived! 1. Asianballers (7-1) are the #1 seed and the favorites to win it all. After playing several seasons with Teddy Bears, Bo Noung assembled this team with the goal of bringing a championship to Asianballers. This team was undefeated until the last game of the season, when they only had four players. Bo Noung (25.4 PPG), Atif Sajid (13.0 PPG), and Josh Kim (11.9 PPG) are all lethal scorers, Met Tang (13.0 PPG) and Mobim Kaleekal (10.6 RPB) can dominate the glass, and Vechet Nehp (10.6 PPG) acts like the glue with his all-around game. Asianballers lack a bench but the strength of their starters can carry them to a title. |
2. Tech (7-1) are the #2 seed, losing only to Asianballers during the regular season. On the perimeter are sharpshooters like Shun Gokita (17.7 PPG), Trevor Callender (13.4 PPG), and James Yi (12.5 PPG). Max Miedel and Minsoo Park can control the paint with their inside passing and scoring. Albert Kang, Sean So, and Danny Quigley add muscle and contribute to the team's success. Tech play as a team and they play with confidence and calm. Every year Tech is a contender to win it all, and this may be the season they break through. |
3. Teddy (6-2) are the #3 seed, losing only to Tech and Asianballers at the beginning of the season. After the departure of Bo Noung and Vechet Nhep, Teddy looked like a team that would fall apart into shambles, but instead Timmy Dam (6.25 APG) managed to bring in different players each week and get wins. When Mike Yoo (27.0 PPG) shows up he can dominate with ease, Meng Xiong (18.0 PPG) is a shooter with deadly accuracy, and Seng Phounsavath also give the team consistent minutes. Whether or not Teddy can reclaim championship glory will depend on who else shows up on game day. |
4. Braves (4-4) are the #4 seed because they beat Youngbloods and Airballers. Braves struggled early in the season, but ended strong with last-second wins against Airballers and Bulldozer. Their win versus LT secured their spot in the playoffs while knocking LT out. Anthony Phosy (20.4 PPG, 13.4 RPG) has emerged as one of the best big man in the league and has the ability to command double teams. Shawn Souvannaraj (14.6 PPG) plays big also and can make big shots. If other players like Austin Phommath, Tim Phangdy, and Johnny Le step up, Braves can surprise and reach the finals. |
5. Youngbloods (4-4) are the #5 seed and will face Braves for the first time this season. Youngbloods are a young team with growing pains, but they have talented players like Tom Hwang (19.1 PPG) and Chris Lee (12.1 PPG). Other players like James Jung, Sam Hong, and Dexter Yi also play aggressive and contribute. Dylan Bun provides a lot of hustle and defense. Youngbloods have enough talent and depth to go far in the playoffs. If Sam Kim shows up they are a dangerous team to play against. |
6. Airballers (4-4) are the #6 seed with an up-and-down season. Josh Lee (14.2 PPG) leads the team in scoring. Lee Tian (11.4 PPG, 9.8 RPG, 3.4 BPG) is a elite shot blocker and someone you want on your fantasy team. Steve Hong (10.6 PPG, 10.6 RPG) averaged a double-double for the season and is a emotional and defensive leader for the team. Other players like Joe Cha, Brian Kim, Patrick Kim, Steve Kim, and Matt Tran also contribute every night. If Airballers can get hot and score in bunches, they can go deep in the playoffs. |
7. Bulldozer (3-5) are the #7 seed. They started the season strong with three wins, but then went on a five-game losing streak. Alan Kim (16.2 PPG, 8.1 RPG) can bang and dish out punishment with his size and he can also shoot threes. He also leads the league with fouls and is always in foul trouble. Youngbin Yim provides steady guard play, Kwang Kim shoots a few threes, and Jiho Park and Kevin Kim also contribute. The late addition of David Noh gives Bulldozer another big man and a legitimate shot at becoming champs. |
8. Monstars (3-5) are the #8 seed after losing the last four games of the season. Allen Lo (13.3 PPG), Phil Shin (11.3 PPG), Hanson Wong (11.0 PPG), and Fan Yang (9.1 PPG) make up the core of the team. When they get hot they can score in bunches. Shihao Li contributes with his ability to block shots and rebound, and James Lee can also light it up. Monstars struggled with team play and turnovers at times, but can win games when they play with some inspiration. Their first round matchup against Asianballers could be a tough one. |
