Playoffs Are Here!
Season 6 playoffs have finally arrived. Like the past couple seasons, Teddy Bears (1) are the #1 seed and favorites to win it all. They have gone 30-2 the past four regular seasons, but have not captured the title since season 2. They have a stacked team that plays well together, which include Bo Noung, Shun Gokita, and Mike Yoo who has stepped up his defense this season. The only thing that can stop Teddy Bears right now are themselves. RPM (2) have played well this season to go 6-2. Chemistry has greatly improved, along with their ball movement and shooting. Players like Johnny Hughes, James Yi, Eric Tran, and David Phan anchor the team every week. More intensity on defense could carry them to the finals. Underdogs (3) finished the season 5-3, showing that they are one of the topdogs instead. They ride their leading scorer Kevin Lee, who dropped a league-high 55 points in one game. Underdogs hustle and play tough every posession, and if they can stay hot they can go deep in the playoffs. Rosco Monster (4) had a winning season of 5-3. Allen Lo and Trevor Callender lead the team in scoring, and the rest contribute in passing, defense, and rebounding. Team defense has improved throughout the season and their zone is working. If everything is clicking Rosco Monsters can beat any team in the playoffs. GT (5) ended the season 4-4, having some tough losses to the top teams. Everyone on the team can ball and they have enough talent and size to win every game. The addition of Phil Shin has provided them tremendous leadership and point guard play. Surround Phil with weapons and he will know how to use them. AFY (6) finished the season 4-4 to make the playoffs. They had blowout losses to GT and Underdogs where they completely gave up. However if AFY can keep games close they have the ability to pull off wins. Rocketeers (7) won their last two games on the last day to finish the regular season 3-5 and make the playoffs. Everyone on the team plays hard and they are slowly figuring out how to play team basketball. Tan Tran continues to lead them on offense, and the addition of veteran Hai Phan has provided them a shooter with range who can bust zones. Forever Young (8) ended the season 2-6. They won their first two games but struggled the rest of the season. Forever Young has good size inside and shooters like Li Cheng and Yuki Ishizu. More execution could help this team find success in the playoffs. |
