Playoffs Preview
Asianballers (6-2) are the #1 seed after beating Tech two weeks in a row. Bo Noung (31.0 PPG) has been dominant with his scoring all season. Atif Sajid, Vechet Nehp, Josh Kim are all playmakers and can switch on defense. Mobin Kaleekal feast in the paint, Johnny Seng shoot threes, and Seng Phounsavath provide steady play. Losing in the finals to Teddy Bears last season was a tough blow, but Asianballers are right back where they were last season - the #1 seed and the easiest path to a championship. |
Tech (6-2) are the #2 seed, playing well all season but losing twice to Asianballers. Shun Gokita (21.7 PPG) and James Yi (17.2 PPG) lead the team each week in scoring. Max Miedel, Trevor Callender, and Albert Kang are regular contributors. Zach Antoine and Minsoo Park also played a few games. Tech are at their best when they pass the ball and take open shots. If Tech can figure out what went wrong in their final two games, they have a good shot to win it all. |
Teddy (6-2) are the #3 seed, losing only to Asianballers and Tech. Timmy Dam has assembled a deep team this season. The core includes Chris Donaldson (24.3 PPG), Mike Yoo (22.4 PPG), Meng Xiong, Kevin Duong, and Sam Saturday. Teddy also have a couple big man that can be called up any game, including Eugene Jung, Harry Sloan, and Ahti Tahir. Teddy Bears are the defending champs until they lose, and they have a good chance to be the first back-to-back champions. |
Duke (4-4) are the #4 seed. Duc Nguyen put together a deep team this season, with different players playing each week. The core includes Kamoni Conley (17.1 PPG), Daniel Estlund, and Donique Andrews. Tion Waki (24.7 PPG) is an athletic freak and talented scorer. Players like Tim Park and Eric Ambrosio have also shown they can play, and Duc Nguyen can shoot deep threes. This team has a lot of good players, and when they play together they are hard to defend against. |
Roscoe (4-4) are the #5 seed because they lost to Duke. Roscoe started and ended the season with losses, but had a good stretch in the middle. Katai Sayyakone (23.2 PPG) is a dominant guard who can break down defenses with his dribble and shoot. Young-Min Kim (18.7 PPG) can light it up with the three ball. Jesse Winchester (10.8 PPG, 13.5 RPG) can control the paint with his sheer size. Other players like Paul Choi, Jerry Shang, and Sterling Rong also contribute to the team's success. |
Bulldozer (3-5) are the #6 seed. David Noh played the first game, and that was the strongest they looked all season. Alan Kim (19.4 PPG) can dish out punishment with his size and ability to shoot threes. Youngbin Yim has emerged as a consistent guard who can score. Other players like Dylan Lee, Kwangsun Kim, and Brian Kim also contribute. Steve Hoang was a late addition and helps the team with rebounds. Better team play and defense will help Bulldozer in the playoffs. |
Braves (2-6) are the #7 seed because they lost to Bulldozer. Braves struggled most of the season, but they played well in their final win against Splash Bros, gaining some momentum going into the playoffs. Anthony Phosy (20.3 PPG, 11.0 RPG) can dominate inside whenever he wants. Other key players include Shawn Souvannaraj, Dylan Bun, Austin Phommath, and Tim Phangdy. Viet Teng can knock down threes, and Denja Vu play tough defense. |
Splash Bros (1-7) are the #8 seed. Phil Shin put together a deep team, almost like a family. Although they lost a lot of games, they were close in most with chances to win. They have been unlucky in closing out games. Regular contributors to the team include Kris Ku, Joseph Lee, Kevin Lee, Sejin Lee, Calvin No, Daniel Seoh, Allen Suh, Sammy Yi, and Kyle Bryan. Splash Bros have nothing to lose, and can be a dangerous team to face in the playoffs. |

BIG BOARD | GAME RESULTS |
Which team will win the championship this season? The best Asian team in Atlanta will be decided this summer! Will Timmy Dam and his Teddy Bears build a dynasty and repeat as champions? Can Bo Noung lead Asianballers to championship glory in Oriental Basketball League? Or can Duc Nguyen win another title with Duke, a team he built with athletes recruited from Lifetime? Can Braves break out with Anthony Phosy and Shawn Souvannaraj blazing the way and bringing pride to their people? What about Tech, can they win it all with Shun Gokita and James Yi, or will they always be the best team to not win a title? Do Roscoe have a shot too, with big man Jesse Winchester and guard Katai Sayyakone? Can Bulldozer run over everyone to the top with Alan Kim and Youngbin Yim? Maybe Phil Shin will surprise with his Splash Bros and put on a show? |
