Aston Valley will be hosting a 7 Year Old Tournament at the Weir Park baseball complex in Aston, PA. The tournament will start Saturday June 24th.
Each team that participates will be guaranteed a minimum of three games.
All participants will receive a trophy.
A fee of $400.00 is required to participate.

WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY
FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE
2017 ASTON VALLEY BASEBALL LEAGUE
7 YEAR OLD TOURNAMENT
In consideration of being allowed to participate in Baseball Tournaments sponsored by the Aston Valley Baseball League, and any related events and activities, and intending to be legally bound, the undersigned:
Agree(s) that the parent(s) and/or legal guardian(s) will inspect the facilities and equipment to be used, or will instruct the minor participant to inspect the facilities and equipment to be used, and if the parent or participant believes anything to be unsafe, he/they will immediately advise his coach of such condition and refuse to participate.
Acknowledge and fully understand that each participant will be engaging in sports activities that could result in injury by his action, inaction or negligence, the action, inaction or negligence of others, the rules of play, the condition of the premises, and/or the condition of any equipment used.
Assume all of the aforementioned risk, and accept personal responsibility for any and all damage following any such injury.
Release, waive, discharge and covenant not to sue the Aston Valley Baseball League, its respective administrators, directors, agents, coaches, and other members of the organization, hereafter referred to as releasees, from any and all liability to each of the undersigned, his or her heirs, and next-of-kin, for any and all claims, demands, losses or damages on account of bodily injury or damage to property, caused or alleged to have been caused, in whole or in part, by the negligence of the releases or otherwise.
We have read the above waiver and release, understand that we have given up substantial rights by accepting it, and sign it voluntarily.

Tournament Rules and Regulations
GENERAL NOTES
- All games will be played on the AVBL Rookie Field.
- All equipment must be Cal Ripken, Little League, Babe Ruth approved.
- The AVBL concession stand will be open during the duration of the tournament.
- Please be cautious of children crossing the roads in the vicinity of the complex.
- Parking in the AVBL parking lot is limited. Please inform your parents and fans that parking is permitted on any of the roads that surround the complex. Please also let them know that they should not park in a manner that would interfere with anyone accessing or leaving their drive. Police may ticket any car that is parked illegally.
ROSTERS
- Rosters will consist of 15 player’s maximum, 1 manager and 3 coaches.
- All players must play for a team in their organization only.
BEFORE EACH GAME
1. AVBL will provide the baseballs to be used during the tournament.
2. Ground rules will be covered by both managers, the umpire and an AVBL official at home plate.
3. No one, except players, manager, coaches may occupy the dugout area.
4. No inning may start after 2 hours. This is to ensure the Tournament Schedule.
5. Exception to above rule is if the game is tied, then the game will end when one team is ahead after a complete inning.
6. All dates and times are subject to change.
GAMES
1. All players are to bat in a designated order, whether they play in the field or not.
2. All players are to play at least two innings per game in the field. No player will play one position for more than two innings.
3. Games are limited to 6 innings or two hours, whichever comes first.
4. 7 year old teams will use the pitching machine in all innings. The machine will be set at 42’ from home plate.
5. The speed will be set at 41 MPH for all batters. The ball bag will be hung from the machine.
6. Ten players can play on defense.
7. A half inning ends after a maximum of 10 batters or three outs.
8. All team equipment must be stored in the dugout or fenced area around the dugout.
9. If after 4 complete innings, one team is ahead by 15 or more runs, the 15 Run Rule will be in effect and the game will be officially over.
10. The manager is the only person that may question an umpire.
11. Teams are responsible to clean their dugout after each game.
BATTERS AND BASERUNNERS
1. If the batter throws his bat, a warning will be given to that team. For the second offense, the player is automatically out and the base runners must return to the base at the time of the thrown bat.
- When a player is running the bases, his/her helmet must remain on at all times.
- We will use the 3 strike rule for all batters.
- The batter and the base runners can advance only one base on an infield hit. On an outfield hit, they may advance only two bases.
- On a batted ball, play will stop when the ball has crossed the plane of the infield.
- If a batted ball hits the pitching machine and ball bag, the play is dead. The batter will be awarded a base hit and all runners will advance one base.
- There are no leads permitted. The runners must stay on the base until the ball has been hit.
- Base runners must be halfway to advance when the ball is thrown back into the infield. There will be lines marked on the field to show the ‘advance’ lines.
- Base stealing is permitted from all bases except third to home. No runner on third base can score unless he is batted home.
· A max of two successful steals per inning is allowed. A double steal involving two players constitutes a maximum steals per inning.
· When runners are on first and third base, the catcher has a free throw to second base if the runner on first attempts to steal. The runner on third cannot advance.
· Runners cannot leave the base on a steal until the ball has crossed the plate.
· Infielder must stay in their positions and the catcher must stay down and behind the plate until the ball has crossed home plate.
- No walks permitted.
- Bunting is not permitted.
- There is no advancing on overthrows on a batted ball or stolen base attempt.
- Head first sliding is not permitted.
- There is no infield fly rule.
- Only the next batter is allowed on the designated on-deck area.
- Courtesy runners are allowed for the catcher when there are two outs.
DEFENSE/ CATCHERS
- Ten players will be used on defense using four outfielders. The outfielders must play in an umbrella formation.
- The catcher MUST wear a protective supporter with a cup and helmet, along with the other proper protective equipment.
3. Coaches are encouraged to take the field with their players for instruction purposes and safety. The coaches are to remain in the outfield grass. The coaches will not be in the sight line of the batter.
Coaches will not be allowed to stop play for instruction or interfere with live play or the pace of the game in any manner.
GENERAL RULES
- Metal spikes are not permitted to be worn by any player.
- No smoking is permitted on the complex grounds.
- Unsportsman like conduct of any sort will NOT be tolerated. The offending person will be ejected from the game. Examples of such conduct include (but not limited to): foul or abusive language, destruction of AVBL property, throwing equipment, harassing players, etc.
- The ejected subject must leave the playing field of sight and sound. For non-compliance, the umpire will rule the offending team to forfeit the game.
- Alcoholic beverages are NOT permitted on Aston Valley property at any time.
