NWWC: Northwest Washington's Premier Wrestling Club
NWWC is a distinguished member of USA Wrestling and the premier Folkstyle, Freestyle, Greco-Roman and Beach wrestling club in Northwest Washington. Over the last decade, NWWC wrestlers have amassed 1242 State Championship Medals, 345 Individual State Titles, 126 USAW All-American Honors, 6 UWW All-American Honors, 10 Freestyle National Championships, 9 Greco-Roman National Championships, 5 Folkstyle National Titles, 1 Beach Wrestling National Title, 1 Women's National Title, 1 National Triple Crown Award, 4 Pan-American Gold Medals and 3 Beach Wrestling World Medals. 2024 UWW BW World Championships (GR)
Two NWWC wrestlers traveled to Paralia, Greece over the week of September 16th to compete for Team USA at the 2024 UWW Beach Wrestling World Championships. Over the course of competition, the Michaelson brothers racked up eight matches, six individual wins and Lars Michaelson of Bremerton, age 19, finished second in the U20, 90 kg division. With the silver-medal finish, Lars Michaelson became only the second US male athlete to win a world medal in the Beach Wrestling U20 division (Thor Michaelson being the first). Congratulations to both NWWC wrestlers.
