Coach Garner has been teaching Physical Education, at Mainland, since 2001.
She was the Head Varsity Volleyball coach from 2002-2015
Prior to coming to Mainland, Coach Garner
* taught 6 years at Brighton High School, in Brighton, TN.
* worked 8 years at Fedex - International Customer Service & Customer Support
* Was the assistant Volleyball Coach at the University of Memphis
* Graduated from the University of Memphis with a BS, and Master's Degree
* Tried out for the 1980 Olympic Volleyball Team.
* Participated on both the Univeristy of Memphis Track Team, and Volleyball team. On the track team, she participated in the high jump, pole vault, shot put, and pentathalon. As a volleyball player, her jersey was retired, is in the Univ of Memphis Hall of Fame, and her banner is the volleyball banner hanging from the Univ of Memphis gym.
* 1977 Graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. In high school Mrs. Garner Participated in Volleyball, Basketball, and Track & Field.
* Coach Garner is married to Don Garner, and they have two adult children: Jonathan & Sarah, and one grand child: Jack
* Coach Garner continues to participate in fitness activities, regulary. She also competes in the Senior games, at the local, and National levels, in volleyball, pole vault, and high jump.
