To the Association:

Great to see The Maryland Slow-pitch Softball Hall of Fame has become a reality. What a beautiful site you've created for Maryland Slow-pitch Softball Participants. Playing Softball for many years in both Maryland and Virginia, it's nice to see Maryland finally honoring their own. Maybe now other Hall of Fames won't forget about us in Virginia and will quit trying to expand into Anne Arundel County, which is a BALTIMORE METRO AREA and also into Harford County, which is North of Baltimore County and City! Since the formation of your Association began those of us living in Virginia wonder, have we been abandon?
Even our Banquet has been moved to Maryland!
I've heard nothing but good things about your Association. I thinks it's great how the Maryland Slow-pitch Softball Association refuses to make money off their Inductees by selling raffle tickets, shirts, hats and drinks at the banquet and sticking with the belief that this is the day each Inductee is personally honored, and not making it a fundraiser. When I inquired about the price of your banquet tickets and learnt it includes Open Bar for 5 hours, and thats how all your expenses for that day are paid, I was totally amazed with the price being ONLY $35 p.p. That really showed me what I've heard is true, that your Hall of Fame Banquet is for each Inductee and the day is all about them being honored. If I ever retire and move back to Maryland, I promise I will become a part of your Association, which has shown me it honors individuals who have particpated in Maryland Slow-pitch Softball and became eligible for nomination into the MARYLAND SLOW-PITCH SOFTBALL HALL OF FAME. Also I am particularly proud that only softball peers from Maryland get to vote for each Inductee of their choice by closed ballot, and it's especially great to know that the same people cannot serve on the election board two years in a row. I've recently heard that this years election board was set up to consist of diversity by area and past yearly Inductees, thats great. But what made me smile the most? Is your special category for that special individual who could not play but loved the game. Keep up the good work and maybe other Maryland particpants will learn to be proud of their State, their fellow players and competitors. Maybe when they realize the importance of a Hall of Fame for their home state of Maryland, they will step up become a part of the Association. Being from Maryland they should help by nominating their teammates, friends, and competitors and others they met through softball for this great honor. Congratulations to all the Maryland Slow-Pitch Softball Hall of Fame Inductees since it began in 2006.
