| I received a call from Charlie O'Hara. You would remember him as the pitcher/first baseman who played for Smiley's, Michael's and Betty & Jake's, to name a few. He's a big, sandy haired fellow who wore his glove on the wrong hand and used the ladies batter's box (the one closest to first base - like Trout, Markowski, Kafka!)
Charlie informed me that he is battling throat cancer. He has been undergoing treatment and we hope to hear positive results.
Because of radiation & chemotherapy, Charlie can only talk on the phone for short moments. I'm certain that he would like to hear some words of encouragement or just some BS from his softball friends.
