Bears blank Blue Jays
Nolan Kline tossed a complete-game, 3-hit shutout as the Bears opened up their participation in the 2018 Berks County Legion Baseball Playoffs with a 2-0 win over Exeter. Kline allowed only 1 walk and 1 hit batsman while striking out 5. He was ably aided by Shayn Horrocks, who not only made several stellar plays at third base, but also scored both of Boyertown's runs, and by Nick DiCiacco, who went 2-for-2 and drove in a run. Christian Pochron pitched well in defeat, allowing the Bears only 4 hits, 2 walks, and 2 hit-batsmen. The Bears advance to tomorrow's game against the winner of tonight's playoff opener between West Lawn and Twin Valley. Exeter plays the losing team from that other game.
