Strath Haven Walk-Off Thwarts Radnor Rally
Radnor battled back from an early 5-1 deficit to tie the game on Emma Cooper's first varsity hit in the 6th inning, but Strath Haven rallied in the bottom of the 7th to win on a 2-out single. Tess Massaro pitched 5 very strong innings to allow the Raiders to battle back, limiting Strath Haven to only 2 runs (1 earned) during this time.
In the 5th inning, Audrey Rosenblum led off with a double and scored on Grace Remphrey's single. Pinch runner Mary Schrems later scored on a 2-out double by Tess. Still down 6-4 going into the 6th, Roni Hoover led off with a solo HR followed by a single from Abbie Frost. Abbie then scored the tying run on Emma Cooper's big 2-out single.
Unfortunately, with 2 outs and runners at 2nd and 3rd, the Haven batter hit a seeing-eye grounder right up the middle to win the game.
Audrey was 3 for 4 with a double and a HR leading off the game, scoring 2 runs. In addition to her brilliant pitching, Tess had 2 hits including the RBI double.
Radnor is off until hosting Marple Newtown next Monday.
