 Tie-Breaker Rules

The tie-breaker rules apply for semi-finals qualifications, wild card selection, and consolation games.  At the conclusion of pool play, teams will be seeded for the semifinals and consolation games based on the following tie-breaker rules.

1.  Best Winning Percentage

2.  Most Wins

3.  Head to Head Result(s) (not applicable in a 3 way tie)

4.  Least Runs Allowed Per Game Completed

5.  Most Runs Scored (maximum 15/game) Per Game Completed

6.  Run Differential (maximum 10/game)

7.  Shutouts

8.  Record of teams defeated

9.  Coin Flip

Tournament Rules

1.  No time limits on games.

2.  For pool games, a coin flip will give the winner the choice between choosing home or visitors.

3.  For playoff games, the higher seed is the home team.

4.  Mercy rules are in effect: 20 runs after 3 innings; 15 runs after 4 innings; 10 runs after 5 innings.

5.  No courtesy runners.

6.  Teams may use an EP (Extra Player) in the lineup so that 10 players can be in the lineup.  The EP can enter the field freely and can bat anywhere in the lineup.

7.  A DH (Designated Hitter) is also permitted.  The DH can bat for any player in the field.  Regular PIAA rules (as opposed to American League rules) apply to use of the DH.

8.  All starters can return to the lineup once, as per PIAA rules.

9.  A regulation official game is one that has completed 5 innings.

10.  In case of a pool play regulation game ended by rain, or darkness, the game can result in a tie.

11.  Coaches must be in uniform as per American Legion rules.

12.  Consolation game seedings may be adjusted to avoid teams from the same league playing each other or from teams from the same tournament division playing a second time.

13.  If the #1 seed and the wild card are from the same division, the #1 seed will play the #3 seed and the #2 seed will play the wild card seed in the semifinals.

14.  In case of inclement weather that cancels one game, no refund of entry fee will be given.  If inclement weather cancels 2-3 games, a 50% refund will be given. In case of inclement weather that cancels the entire tournament, a full refund will be given.

Tournament Director

Any questions or concerns should be directed to the tournament director, Bill Moore, at 610-937-1994.

Since tie breakers involve scoring, BOTH TEAMS NEED TO TEXT GAME RESULTS TO THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR.
