Our Policies

LigaLeague players are expected to adhere to these policies for continued participation to the league. Our League is governed by BasketMan and GROs.

League rules are brought up by players and are then voted on by the league.

League rules that cannot be altered are: a. Seven (7) players per team, and b. Six (6) teams max per season. League was created for this purpose…to make sure everyone gets enough playing time (we just wanna play).

GRO’s are there to make sure that the rules are in place and are being enforced.

1. Once you become a participant, you will always be a participant. However, this special league requires that players be able to make 90% of their games due to small team rosters of 7 players. League will have no authority to coerce you to leave unless YOU decide to leave for various personal reason (work, injury, conflicts, etc.) or non-conformance to 90% game attendance.

2. Players can play to any "League" if they want to; but make sure "NOT TO BE LATE" on your LigaLeague games because of a game with another League, otherwise, you will be taken out of your team and out of the current LigaLeague season. You will then be put on waiting list for the following season.

3. Full League Payments are due by your 3rd game or risk being removed from the league.

4. NO REFUNDS. Should anything happen to your schedule which may lead you to cancel your league participation, refunds or return of money (or partial) are not allowed. GROs will not go through finance crisis to cover for somebody else's expense due to player's payables.

5. WITHDRAWAL  – When a player withdraws due to injury, work, or family during the season, he should report his playing status to the GRO’s or email Basketman as soon as possible. He will be replaced by part-time (PT) player for the duration of the season.  No additional player will be assigned to the team.

6. PART TIME PLAYER – This is a  player that are assigned for each team; he is allowed to play on Game #1 and the playoffs; then can only play from Game #2 through #10 if a full-time player is out or have withdrawn.

Should anything happen to a player during the playoffs, it has been our league policy not to add a player during that crucial stage of the season.

7. NO UNIFORM – A player without a uniform shall be penalized by adding 2 points to the opposing team as soon as that player without a uniform enters the game. That player not in uniform is allowed to borrow his teammates jersey during play but penalty will have to be enforced.

8. TEAMS MISSING PLAYERS – A.) If a team is missing a fifth player, that team is allowed to get a temporary player present in the gym and must be approved by the opposing team’s captain or representative. B.) If a team needs 2 players to complete a team of five, the game will be an automatic default rewarding the opposing team with a win of 10-0. Game will resume as an exhibition for both scheduled teams (with ref).

9. FOULS – If a team has only 5 players and that 5th player has 5 fouls. That player is allowed to stay in the game rewarding the opposing team two free throws every time that player commits a foul.

10. LEAGUE SEASON – One round and Two rounds.

11.Tie Breakers. (1) Head-to-head win/loss record among the teams involved, if still tied then (2) Points differential of the head-to-head games, (3) toss coin

How does the waiting list work?
As we all know, we prioritize our full time original players!

Whether family, work or health issues when you have been with the league for more than 2 years, you are regarded as an original player and can come back anytime after a leave.

So some players who haven’t been with us for a while will have to play as an 8th man or will be listed back on the waiting list when an original payer returns.

When GRO’s are informed by a player that a friend or relative wants to play in LL, we immediately put them on the list.

For example:

Next on list:
1. Jarencio
2. Martirez
3. Mamaril

If a spot is available we call Jarencio to play.

If Jarencio is not available at that time, we call Martirez.
Martirez gets to play but when Jarencio gets in, Jarencio is still priority.

So if an original player comes back and Jarencio and Martirez are playing,
Martirez still has to give way for the original player and has to go back to the waiting list.
