(write-up from Bogart S.)
A lifelong dream became a fruition when Mike G and Eddie took part in the first LL Wives Volleybelle game....Many thanks to the LL Wives who participated and supported us last friday....Kudos to all!!!

and, this V tourney will now be a quarterly event--- details to follow --

WLL2 - The Rematch

The women did come back and showed their brand of basketball at LL recently at MJCC. These lasses are wives, relatives, and friends all in the name of putting a few sweat into the game. These collections of ballers were a bit different than before but regardless, the game was played with emotion, laughter and sizzle. We can almost rely that these WLL games are sure to get us men off our seats and cheer for them. Good job girlz...winners and losers. Team Krista (captain LA) won 28-15 against Team Jinky (captain Jo). The next WLL is schuduled for May 2010.

WLL is back...Number 2

Let her whip! WLL is back again. This Friday, 1/22, at our Semi-finals, LL will feature another exhibition basketball...women version. Belo Beauties v. Calayan Cuties, a group of LL wives and sisterhood to get in tuned with their resolution, sweat and just play ball. Just as the first WLL, rules had been modified to encourage eager participation. Team Captains, Jo Suarez and Charina Cruz of Team Malditas (before) are to defend their medals this time. They are bringing a new player Tammy Vizcarra so for sure, the will continue to own the boards. For Supladitas (before), captains Rowena Vergara and Kaye Santos have been looking for another opportunity to redeem, after 17-14 loss last summer. The game has been set. It is now here. GO GIRLZ!

WOmen Rulez!

They more than took over the hard court! Made all of us PROUD! :-) What a fitting ending to our season finale. Supladitas held off Malditas, 17-14 in a 24 minute wives-only exhibition basketball. It was more than what everyone had hoped. In fact, it got quite competitive. They really surprised us all. Had Leslie Canlas' buzzer beater 3-pointer got in, we would have a thriller OT! But not too bad of a game especially for wives picking up the sport just for this night. It says a lot to their outpouring support of their hubby. You guys WANT a rematch?
