Spring Season

** Spring 2018 Registration will open in early 2018 **

Teams

U.S. Soccer has made some changes to encourage further youth development. These changes included the nationwide adoption of Small-Sided Games and a shift from school-year to calendar year for the age grouping of teams.  Read more at the U.S. Youth Soccer website.  With that said, the Williston Soccer Club is looking to field teams for boys and girls born during the years of 2006 to 2009.

General Information

The Williston Soccer Club (WSC) strives to provide all players with the opportunity to learn and develop skills with a focus on teamwork, sportsmanship, competition and fun.  We do not require try outs but we do ask for each player's commitment to a more competitive level of play.  You do not need to reside in Williston to be part of the Club.  We gladly accept surrounding town players to join.  The spring season runs from April through June.  Practices are held at the Williston Community Fields.  Home games are at the Williston Community Fields.  Teams will travel to other towns for Away games.

Session Dates

Spring Soccer typically runs 8-9 weeks, from the last week of April through the last week of June.

Training Sessions

Training sessions will focus on personal athletic skill development and will consist of drills and scrimmages.  Players are expected to be serious and to be committed and ready to play.  They should bring a water bottle, shin guards, a soccer ball and soccer cleats to each practice.  Practices are at the Williston Community Fields (behind Williston Central School, 195 Central School Drive).  The WSC understands that there may be conflicts with other spring sports, so we recommend that you do your best to attend at least one practice each week (attendance at practice is not mandatory to play in games).

Practice sessions days & times will be determined closer to the start of the season.

Games & Tournaments

The spring season includes approximately 6-7 VSL games and participation in the Kohl's Cup (mid June for U8-U10 players), Nordic Cup (mid June for select teams) and the Essex United Soccer Tournament (end of June).  The game times may vary from week to week, but are typically scheduled on Saturday/Sunday afternoons or Friday evenings.  The game schedule will be released in April.   Home games will be played at the Williston Community Park fields.  Away games will be at our opponent's fields (i.e. Colchester, Burlington, Milton, Fairfax, Barre & Stowe).

Fees

Spring practice/game fees typically range from $50-$100 and include the cost of player passes (+$25 if the player did not play in the VSA fall league), team fees, referee fees (U10-U16), coaching fees (if applicable) and miscellaneous club expenses.

WSC players are also required to wear an official WSC uniform for the fall and spring outdoor games.  A full kit typically costs $47 (+ shipping) and is a separate cost from the seasonal fees listed above.

Final fees will be determined closer to the start of the season.  Fees depend on the number of players registered.

Refunds

No refunds.
