The 2020-2021 Year in Review
Over the 2020-2021 Freestyle, Folkstyle and Greco-Roman wrestling seasons, 160 NWWC athletes wrestled at 50 tournaments in 16 states and two countries. Throughout the course of competition, NWWC earned 94 WSWA state championship medals, 42 individual state titles, 10 USAW All-American honors, two USAW national titles and two UWW Pan-American gold medals. As a team, NWWC placed third at the WSWA Freestyle State Championships, second at the WSWA Folkstyle State Championships, first at the WSWA Greco-Roman State Championships and fifteenth in the nation for USAW club size. Congratulations to all the NWWC wrestlers, family and friends on a tremendous year in wrestling.

FARGO 2021 (ND)
Seven NWWC high school athletes traveled to Fargo, ND over the week of July 16th to compete for Team Washington at the 50th Annual USAW 16U & Junior Freestyle & Greco-Roman National Championships. Over the seven days of competition, the seven studs recorded fifty-three matches, twenty-eight victories and finished with four All-American honors. The USAW 16U & Junior Freestyle & Greco-Roman National Championships is considered the world's largest wrestling competition and Fargo 2021 set an all-time record with 5,911 athletes from 47 states wrestling 11,621 matches on 25 mats.

2021 USAW Kids FS & GR Nationals (WI)
Three NWWC athletes traveled to Wisconsin Dells, WI over the weekend of June 25th to compete for Team Washington at the 2021 USAW Kids Freestyle & Greco-Roman National Championships. Over the two days of competition, the Washington trio wrestled twenty-two matches, earned six All-American honors and Samuel Moran of Gig Harbor, age nine, captured both the Freestyle and Greco-Roman National Title in the 10U, 77-pound division. The 2021 USAW Kids Freestyle & Greco-Roman National Championships drew over 1000 entries from 43 states. Congratulations to all three NWWC wrestlers.

2021 WSWA Folkstyle State Championships (WA)
Forty-two NWWC wrestlers traveled to Centralia, WA over the weekend of June 19th to compete at the 2021 WSWA Kids and High School Folkstyle State Championships. Over the course of the two tournaments, the mighty NWWC amassed thirty-four individual medals, fifteen individual state titles and ten triple-crown awards. As a team, NWWC finished second-place in the kids tournament and third-place at the high school state championships (Super State). The annual state tournaments drew over 1100 entries from 90 wrestling teams throughout the state. Congratulations to all forty-two NWWC wrestlers:

After the Western States Turf Wars Duals, NWWC's Peter Pauly of Bremerton, age 14, stayed in Provo, UT to test himself against all-comers in the 14U 120 lb weight class at the 2021 USA Western States Individual Championships. Over the two days of competition, Pauly garnered a 7-4 win-loss record, six tech-falls and two medals. Congratulations to NWWC's Peter Pauly.

2021 UWW Pan-Am Championships (MX)
NWWC wrestler Thor Michaelson, class of 2023, traveled to Oaxtapec, Mexico over the week of June 7th to compete for Team USA at the 2021 UWW Cadet & Junior Pan-American Wrestling Championships. Over the course of the week, Michaelson tallied a win-loss record of 8-0, earned two gold medals (71 kg) and finished as the Outstanding Wrestler of the Freestyle Tournament. As a team, USA won both the Freestyle and Greco-Roman tournaments handily. Congratulations to Thor Michaelson and Team USA!

2021 GRECO STATE CHAMP1ONS (WA)
Thirty-six NWWC wrestlers traveled to Everett, WA over the weekend of May 1st to compete at the 2021 WSWA Freestyle & Greco-Roman State Championships. Over the course of the two tournaments, NWWC amassed sixty individual medals, twenty-seven individual state titles, seven Junior National Tournament berths (19U), three Cadet National Tournament berths (16U) and one more induction into the Legends of the WSWA freestyle hall of fame. As a team, NWWC finished first-place in the Greco-Roman tournament and third-place in the Freestyle tournament. Overall, the annual State Championships drew over 1100 entries from forty-five wrestling clubs throughout the state. Congratulations to all thirty-six NWWC wrestlers. Three NWWC high school athletes traveled to Wisconsin Dells, WI over the weekend of April 23rd to compete for a berth on Team USA at the 2021 UWW Cadet World Team Trials. Over the course of three days and two grueling tournaments, NWWC tallied twenty-eight matches, fourteen victories, two medals and Thor Michaelson of Bremerton, age 17, captured the 71 kg spot on Team USA for the 2021 UWW Pan-American Championships in Oextepec, Mexico, June 9-13. 2021 NHSCA HS Nationals (VA)
NWWC athlete Logan Stafford of Port Orchard, age 17, traveled to Virginia Beach, VA over the weekend of April 23rd to compete at the 32nd annual NHSCA High School Nationals. Over the two days of competition, Mr Stafford battled in five bouts and captured two significant wins, including a victory over the North Carolina State Champion, to earn a 6th-place finish in the Senior, 195 lb division. 2021 RMN Rumble in Arizona (AZ)
Six NWWC wrestlers traveled to Bullhead City, AZ during the last weekend of February to compete at the 2021 RMN Rumble in Arizona. Over the course of two tournaments and three days of competition, NWWC compiled fifty-three matches, thirty victories, three medals and one individual championship belt. Four NWWC athletes traveled to the Utah Valley Convention Center in Provo, UT over New Year's to compete at the 2021 USAW Salt Lake Slam and Christmas Clash Duals.
