STATs Anyone?
While I'm waiting for these incredibly lazy volunteers to give their playoff updates, I thought I'd regale you with a few stats as I figure some stuff out. First let's talk about Troy's baseball pool. I know Troy is working diligently to align all the scores of players with submitted team selections, but I only had to do about 10% of that work to figure out who scored the most team.
Don't get too excited. This is ONLY the points that players earned for fantasy teams and NOT what submitted fantasy teams scored.

This was a tight race all the way through Hayward getting shafted by the batting order. Despite having the best batting average by a wide margin, he was driving in runs rather than scoring them. Routledge continues to be an elite "on base" lead off man and Boucher keeps getting better having a solid season. Might see him in pool F next year.

There's not a pitcher out there that didn't think Donnie Booth would rank high on this list, or Cal Steeves (yet ANOTHER Bat Flipper) for that matter. I have to say that Vince is bit of a surprise. However in looking a little closer, Vince's ABs, runs and hits are all slightly down from last year. He's clearly an under-valued commodity!

John Karr! Great job winning this pool by a fairly wide margin. Shockingly, the Bat Flippers pitcher, Kevin Bryan, made the list. His runs were up 40% and hits nearly 25% over last year. Les produced his normal good numbers. Interestingly, all the players in the "K" pool scored in the top half of the league overall.

I know none of these guys will brag so I'll do it for them. This pool is almost exclusively #12's in our league. We have 204 players in our league. Theoretically, people in this group "should" rank between 187th and 204th overall. Candy was #70 in the entire league. Quadrini was #85 overall. And Kevin Goulter was an amazing #105 of 204 players. I'm not super shocked, but don't mind saying that I'm amazingly proud of their seasons!

And finally .... it was all settled.
The Tap Masters win over the Twisters last night gave the Grisslies 8th place, Hurtin' Units 9th place, Tap Masters 10th place, Twisters 11th place and Dodge City 12th place. Your final standings are below this script and below that you'll find the playoff schedule. Dan Chiasson has kindly updated the playoff schedule to include the actual team names.
Good luck everyone. I know everyone wants to win, I completely understand that. But I'll remind you of the first sentence from our constitution: "The mandate of the Tottenham Oldtimers Slo Pitch League is to provide recreational baseball in a manner that promotes the ideals of sportsmanship and friendship while minimizing the potential for injury." Every time you swing a bat, slide, throw, catch or say something you have an opportunity to follow that mandate or not. Choose wisely.
Tune back in here as I have asked a few league stalwarts to give a brief synopsis of our playoff teams. I should be collecting them all in a day or two and posting.
Here is a breakdown of game times and dates per team. Great Job by Will Goodin who put together the most balanced schedule we've seen to date. To ensure that everyone had at least one game at Keogh Park, we had 5 teams have to double dip there Also, every team plays at least once on Saturday. I'm not naive enough to think that people won't find something to complain about with the schedule. It wouldn't be post-season without some rumbling. Teams either think Keogh is an advantage or disadvantage....however there'll be two teams on field no matter where you play and your opponent is determined by the luck of the draw based on your finish. The schedule was made before you had a play off spot, so there was no favourtism in the schedule.
