Email from the City of Markham regarding Crosby Park

From the city of Markham:-

This is a message to all users using Crosby Park between July 21st and August 8th.

The Main Street Unionville Restoration Project is nearing completion of Phase 1, with work about to begin on a key component of the phase. Starting Monday, July 21, the intersection of Main Street and Carlton Road will be fully closed for approximately three weeks to allow for roadway removal, resurfacing, and final paving work. This closure is necessary to complete the work safely and efficiently.

While vehicular access will be restricted, pedestrian access to all businesses will remain open throughout the closure period. The City and its contractor will actively explore opportunities to expedite the work, where possible, in order to reduce the length of the intersection closure.

When planning adjustments to your regular commutes, consider:

• Using Highway 7 or 16th Avenue for east-west travel instead of Carlton Road.

• Using Kennedy Road, Fred Varley Drive, or Village Parkway for north-south travel instead of Main Street and the east lane.
