ELROSA SAINTS

The Elrosa Saints played 2 games over the weekend and picked up a win and loss in the process. A 13-3 loss to Farming is a game they would like to forget but a 3-2 walkoff win over Richmond on Sunday got the train back on the tracks. For 8 innings on Sunday, the Saints couldn't figure out the Royal puzzle but rallied to score 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th to pull out the exciting victory. They did so in one of the oddest sequences in recent history by recording 4 walks and 1 hit. In the 9th, Will Van Beck led off with a walk followed by a base on balls by Blaine Fischer. Peyton Winter singled to load the bases and then Van Beck was forced home for the first Saints run by yet another drawn walk from Gavin Kampsen. With the bases loaded, Ashton Dingmann then tied the game at 2 when he reached base on four balls allowing Fischer to score. Luke Dingmann then lifted an RBI sac fly to right field to plate Winter with the winning run. Wyatt Steffensen was the pitcher of record throwing 2 2/3 innings after coming in to replace Riley Meyer who tossed 6 1/3 innings and striking out 6. The Saints will head to the Stearns County Classic tournament this weekend hosted by St. Martin & Lake Henry. Friday night, Elrosa will play St. Martin in a league game at 8:15. Saturday, Elrosa will face the Pierz Lakers and Sunday the navy nine will piece together a lineup vs. the Cold Spring Rockies.
