Elrosa Saints standout Ethan Mueller led the Alexandria Tech College Legends to the NJCAA Division 3 World Series this past weekend in Johnson City, Tennessee. Mueller hit 2 home runs during Regional play in St. Cloud and was part of a team that finished with a school record 39 wins. Mueller was a Swiss army knife playing multiple positions but produced quality at bats all season long. The freshman finished the season with a .388 average with 45 games played. Mueller knocked in 44 runs, scored 42 runs, stole 15 bases, and hit 3 home runs including a two-out walk-off home run in Regional play. Mueller wasn't the only Saint to have an outstanding JUCO season as classmate Luke Illies contributed in more ways than one at St. Cloud Tech. Illies played in 38 games this spring for the Cyclones who took 2nd place in their Region losing to Mueller's Alex team in the finals. Illies scored 29 runs, hit 7 doubles, 1 triple, and hit 1 home run in 97 plate appearances. The young right hander also collected 3 wins on the mound for St. Cloud who finished with 35 total wins.
